I use a Fiskars Stay Sharp, so I'm a mulcher. My unique application makes this a good choice - several patches of Bermuda grass around my property, about 4000 sqft total. I mow twice a week.

Cut my bermuda to dirt two weeks ago then overseed with ryegrass , drop down starter fert and the bermuda came back with a vengeance, refusing to stay brown and go to sleep; competing with the rygrass in most places. Bagging for now with rotary but want to get back to mulching and reel, the ryegrass is growing too fast, would need to mow every 2 days to mulch.

Man. I get some of those spots in my yard too, where the bermuda grows higher, therefore, more grass from the side discharge when I do it. As always, a great video my man 👍

I like both bagging and mulching, but I need the clippings for my compost because it's loaded with nitrogen. But I also want to feed my lawn with mulching. But it's a pain to change my blades back to mulching blades.

the select cut is way higher than that. if it is select cut and 21 inch for that price i would snap up a few of them and resell

ive seen you use gas. battery etc byd. you ever getting into low cut greens 1/2 inch or less gas reel mowing? toros, john deer , tru cuts etc ?i know u say average home owner and greens mowers arent cheap

I’ve used the fiskars reel mower but even if you do the math the average homeowner does not use reel mowers the way they were intended so based on math and what I actually use I don’t focus on reel mowers 👍🏾

yeah i know you dont. i only asked because you try alot of things for the fans.. i saw u use the manual reel.. i only scalp with a rotary but cut season long with a gas reel.. cutting the grass like scissors is better and keeps the grass blades healthy instead of wacking rotary mowers.. i only as cus you do so much for the ppl is all.. im sure they can check out Doc and Ron and Pete for reel mowing

My yard is breaking out of control with nutsedge and weeds. My bermuda grass is 2 to 2 1/4 inches long. The nutsegde is at 4. Im assuming i should only be bagging until the weeds are all gone or is mulching better?

It’s not practical for most so no. I’ve used the Fiskars though.

Do you have problems with your ego more bogging down I cut my grass once a week but even still I have to cut it with the deck set to five to seven otherwise if I put it down to three or four it constantly cuts off and the blades of grass are getting stuck between the cutting blades. It doesn't matter if I side schute, mulch or bag?

You’ll need to cut twice a week then. Sounds like the grass is out paces mowing frequency. Make sure blades a sharpie also. My ego generally cuts right through my lawn when I use it though.

I have realized that the backyard grows a lot faster than the front yard and I can actually get away with not cutting my front yard for two or three weeks because it doesn't seem to grow. Whereas my backyard is very green and definitely needs to be cut at least once a week or two passes would be required.
