Great vid, if you put your cam in Manual mode, you can set the WB and it will show how the lights really look.

I just put some of those in my WJ fog lights after being happy with a set of their headlights. Getting them indexed for the propper beam patern is key. Most cheaper ones arent indexable. Lasfit is good in my book. I got stickers to. Lol

Totally digging this video! I’m debating about getting some LEDs like this and not dish out a few hundred for new fogs just like you stated too. How are they performing up until now such as visibility and durability in the cold. I was eye balling a similar product from Cali Raised for $100 with 3 light switches with white only, yellow only , and white with yellow combo.

Yeah they are not super cheap, but they are cheaper than the LED pod replacements I have seen. Plus being able to switch is really nice because I use white light in town and yellow light on trails.

Put these in my Tundra. Had to lower the point of aim to keep from blinding other drivers. Love the amber.

Did you take the fog lights out to install the bulbs, or go through the top by reaching your hand in after opening the hood?

@@frankwest9304 Just reached down through opening the hood. Or you could do it from the bottom by removing some plastic clips.

@@frankwest9304 I did it the hard way. I had to actually replace the fog light housings first. My Tundra had the SR5 upgrade, meaning that SE Toyota had replaced the original fog light housings with one piece LED fog lights. So I had to replace those one piece fog lights with replacement fog light housings (to replicate the originals, go figure), then insert the new Switch Back bulbs. In order to do that I had to remove and then reinstall the fender linings, as the front skid plate didn't give me enough room to reach and manipulate all of that hardware. It was not easy or fun. But... the amber fog lights are fantastic!

@@Vox-Populi Wow sounds like a heck of a task but It’s great you knew what you had to do. I think I’m going to try removing the fender liner because I’m having trouble getting my hand down through the hood on my Tacoma.

Just put these in and your the man.ON the passenger side there is a plastic sheild over that one so that sucked . The LED kick ass

Is it just me or is the audio messed up? Premiere pro says its awesome but I think uploading it to youtube or exporting it screwed it up...sorry about that. Let me know below if its unbearable.

I don't think they do but you could look around. Many companies make them and typically they are called switch backs

Do the fogs stay the same color when you turn on and off the headlights with the fog light switch on?

They alternate from amber to white while turning on and off

Do they change colors when you go from Low beam, to high back to low?

No when you toggle back and forth is does not change the color. The fogs do turn off when the high beams are on. Every time you turn the fogs on and off the color cycles so you might have to switch it a couple times to get the color of your choice.

@@jasonyoung1999 You may have figured it out by now but since the fogs turn off when switching to your high beams it's the same as turning off the fog light switch.

The reason "why not both" is because the reflector in your fog light is optimized for a very precisely placed halogen filament in order to work correctly. This product adds random LED chips into that carefully engineered optic that cannot possibly be optimized. How would you get two differently colored LED chips into the same focal point in order for the optic to work correctly? (You can't). Either stick with halogen bulbs as the optics were designed for, or replace the entire housing with a proper SAE J583 compliant fog light.

I feel this is more important for low beams where you need the beam pattern to be more focused. I feel like fog lighting is some of the more wide spread non-precise lighting on a car that’s often diffused by fog. I have a hard time believing it’s that big of a deal to swap. I can see the argument though for halogens.

@@OverlandEngineer this is true- precision is most critical in the low beams, as they are the ones that need the most carefully engineered beam patterns (precise cutoff with a hotspot just beneath, glare thresholds to prevent blinding oncoming traffic, fill lighting without oversaturating foreground). In projectors, drop-in LED bulbs tend to shift the hotspot lower in the beam pattern, which gives the initial impression of brighter headlights- but this comes at the expense of reducing the driver's distance vision. In reflectors though (like the halogen fog lights), the failure usually presents itself as extra glare above the pattern. Trust me, you'll notice the difference between drop-in bulbs and truly performant fog light replacements.
