The other benefit of the rare DVC Club level room is the option to take Minnie Vans to and from MCO (available only to club level stays or Golden Oak members).

My life has been a bit chaotic lately and usually listen to the new episodes while I’m doing operational things at work. It’s been about a month since I was able to listen to same day. DVC member since 2009. Own at BLT and AKV. Love the advantages of extra bathrooms in the 1 and 2 BRs. Haven’t stayed in a studio in a while. But I love riviera and grand Floridian stayed there my last two trips. I did club level Savannah view once at jambo for Christmas. It was so worth the points. My best beach club location I was able to take that first path on right from Epcot bridge. Iykyk

I bought BLT for the location, you can walk to Magic Kingdom, saves you a load of time. You park at BLT , no charge for members. The view from your room looks at Mk . You can see the fire works from your room . You are connected to the Contemporary Resort. The studio is small but the least point use. 1 and 2 bedrooms are very spacious. From the Contemporary you can use the Monorail to get around.

We did exactly what Jeff recommended on our recent Aulani stay. Originally we had the Luau booked for the last night of our stay, but we decided to cancel and just watch from our balcony with Monkeypod takeout!

We had a 1st floor Paddock at Saratoga and actually liked it; was easy hanging by the pool and grabbing food from the room.

We got 6 nights in a 2BR at Grand Californian this June at the 7 month window. It took 3 weeks of early mornings, stalking the site and piecing together 1 night stay reservations and having member services combine them into the combined stay and the end.

This was an interesting and entertaining show! I agree with Derek 100% about the theme park view at BLT. We had a two bedroom with our daughter, son-in-law and our three grandchildren. The room was very spacious and we loved all of the bathrooms. The huge window looking out towards the park was amazing until you got a little closer to it and saw the parking lot and sea of cars stretching toward the park! What?????? What a shock that was! lol. And Beach Club? Again I have to agree with Derek, the only reason for staying there is the close proximity to Epcot and the boardwalk. We were once in a studio with one of those tiny balconys and had a nice view of the alligators below in the water and the cards flying by on the street beyond that! Last time we were on the first floor very close to the pool and people were walking by constantly going to and from the pool or their rooms. No privacy a'tall around there! lol

When I was there last January 2024, They were in the process of converting grand floridian 1st floor 3 bedroom into dvc personel offices. They had removed most furniture and had brought in desks. My only thought was those must be the most expensive office space ever considering the points locked up.

Who doesn't love it when a person makes an effort to look nicer? Disney fans love details. . Specially when men do! One of my reasons for loving the podcast " Paging Mr. Morrow." Is his shirts!😂 🎉 Not the usual t-shirt. Don't allow anyone to hide your light!😂

In Aulani the rooms overlooking the garden lawn are great you see the luau and hear the music, and get a partial ocean view from most of those rooms we had a mountain view in January that was the worst view we have ever had there

We stayed 2 weeks at Bay Lake in a studio. We were thrilled. We kept seeing people complain about the rooms size, so we expected a sad vacation. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised.... the balcony kind of extended the room. It was great, we loved it and was sad to leave. Saw EPCOT fireworks from our room! Will go there again after we finally get to stay at our home - Boulder Ridge for 1st time in November.

We waitlisted Beach Club for Thanksgiving week and ended up getting 4 days, Wednesday through Sunday. That was a huge surprise for us.

We must have lucked out back in August as we were able to get a standard studio at BLT for a week stay. I’m assuming it’s because people wanted to check out the newly refurbished Boulder Ridge Villas.

We have been DVC members since 2007 and I have never known or thought about splitting a stay until this year. I was able to book a 2 bedroom, 3 nights at Beach Club and then 3 nights at Copper Creek for July. I was so excited they were available at 7 months. (We normally don’t go in the summer but we had points we needed to use. We will be spending lots of time at the pools.)

We’ve stayed in everything but a grand villa. The club level at Animal Kingdom is all we know. We stayed there when the resort first opened and then after purchasing DVC, only ever stayed at Jambo House on the top floor. We haven’t stayed at a studio since 2005, one or two bedrooms only. We often borrow into the next year and then take a year off to have a longer stay or do multiple stays in one year. The Epcot resorts are our favorites (BCV is our home resort). Conveniently located and plenty of transportation options. The only resort that we will not stay at again until they upgrade the HVAC system is Saratoga Springs. Three stays resulted in multiple family members coming down with respiratory illnesses, including pneumonia.

Very helpful. We have been DVC members at AKL since 2009, and added 50 additional points at Saratoga just so we could do two separate weeks each year. It does make sense that the cheapest stuff goes first. Now that we are retired, I may think about getting some additional points to get those 1 bedroom places. The 11 month window is what I normally do, but thinking about that lock in the 11 month and then try again for the 7 month chance. We wanted to try some different resorts at WDW just for the experience. When we are there we take 3 days each trip and do "resort hopping" which is fun, but I wanted to now stay at some of them!

I'd have to say I tho a waste of points was when we stayed at The Riviera. Beautiful Resort but it was a waste of points for the accommodations. Just my opinion.

You guys and your studios, the bay lake one bedroom has 2 full bathrooms great views of the lake, yes it is due for a refresh, but it has become our favorite stay

I have nine nights at an Animal Kingdom Value studio booked for January, although I’m probably gonna switch 3-4 nights to the Poly once I get my Poly contract closed. I’ve never been able to book the Kilimanjaro Concierge rooms though, even at 11 months. Those rooms are incredibly desirable (and have low inventory).

We got 3 nights IN A ROW in a 2 bedroom at Grand Californian for our family of 8. It was awesome but we had to add hotel room stay (cash) on the front end

Little off topic. If you’re leaving clothes in an owner box, some rooms come with laundry, others don’t; and some resorts are far more convenient to use the shared laundry. Ex: Poly doesn’t have laundry in all buildings.

Not sure it was mentioned specifically but Boardwalk View at BWV (Studios & 2 BR Villas) has become increasing difficult to book over the past 5 years. We’ve been BWV members for more than 20 years and often can no longer get a 2 BR BW View (1-week stay) right at 11 months. Thus now often have to resort to stalking/piecing nights together, or walking unfortunately. But we’re like Derek… only want to stay there if we have our Boardwalk view 😊

It's true that the smallest rooms with the worst view go first. As someone who gets bitten by this quite often, I desperately wish they would recalculate point charts based on this truth, if for no other reason than to avoid the mad dash at (or sometimes before, "walking") the 11 month mark.

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Ama AMA that took a grand villa. It’s in its own building. It could be the quick service restaurant that is one the first floor at the end of the tower at Aulani. The floors directly above it are all grand villas.

I agree with Derick that view can make or break the trip. To me I can’t be at AKL and not look at animals. Can’t stay at BLT and not look at the theme park.

worst room I ever had was at beach club. It was a 1 bedroom and just wasn't worth the points. We love boardwalk, grand Flo, and bay lake 1 bedroom or bigger lol. saratoga is also great if you are doing a staycation or before a cruise.

We kind of goofed buying SSR…we really never want to go there. Would it be “worth it” to sell those points…considering we have lots of years left vs our BWV points? We love BWV. I know we can book elsewhere at 7 months with those points.

Let me put it this way: I'm glad I stayed at BLT on a solo trip. If my husband had come with me, and this room was an example of DVC lodging, he would have suggested selling our contract LOL

Not at all. Magic Kingdom is such a pain to get to. Being able to walk and be there within minutes/leaving at night and being minutes away is far and away superior. Sorry, getting stuck for an hour trying to exit the park and wait for boats/monorail, only to then walk further to a parking lot or Uber, is awful. I suppose if you want to resort-explore/do non-park days, Bay Lake definitely isn’t the best choice. But going to Magic Kingdom and dealing with TTC is pretty bad. And if there’s any logjam or transportation issues, you’re waiting a very long time. Best to be able to walk to Bay Lake.

Nope... Baylake is our favorite. The studios are small for 4 people, that is because the couch is only a double. We have stayed all over. You want disappointment? 1 bedroom at Jamba house for us. So to each his own. Take these opinions with a grain of salt.

I love how people always try and convince others that BLT sucks. I love the studios there and I hope they don't take out the little kitchen when they refurb. The only thing they need is the Murphy. I can handle the little bathroom. You all can go stay at boring Riviera.

Bay lake is one of my home resorts and 3 years ago I felt it was in need of a refurb “badly”! I don’t understand how the boardwalk had their refurb done first, because that’s how bad Bay Lake is

Bay lake is the worst. I hate to agree with Derek (makes me sad). It is so bland. The pool sucks, however the parking lot view over the vents is pretty awesome (sarcasm). Please fix the WiFi! The cruise ships have better free WiFi than bay lake. Sorry for the soapbox moment, but we own bay lake…do better Dvc please!! Ps Amy, you love the location not the hotel. Love you guys !!!!!
