This is such a great message now especially now with social media promoting likes and other numbers, to remember that your worth isn’t determined by how many people watch you. What’s important is how you be yourself and ways you connect and interact with others.

Here’s one kid that you influenced. Growing up, watching his show was EVERYTHING to me. Watching his show made me happy. I remember one year, seeing him in the macys day parade & screaming “THERES MR. ROGERS!!!” I didn’t care about anything else. Watching his videos with my children today & it still makes me feel just as happy as he did 30 years ago. Thank you for being my neighbor, Mr. Rogers!! Rip to the most gentle soul!! ❤️✨

This is why I turned away from a career in educational administration and returned to the classroom. It’s hard to value people and relationships and survive when your employers only care about numbers (especially their own salaries). I don’t regret being present for one student at a time, more than a 150 times a day.

I just turned 45 and Mr Roger's occupies my oldest memories and I think..... I know im a better person because of it. People today laugh at stuff 40 and 50 years old but im thankful for those things. Mr Rogers, captain Kangaroo, 321 contact, sesame street and the list goes on. Those things made learning fun and I shudder to think of young kids in their most impressionable age today watching people beating up strangers on tiktok and earning good money from it. It's a terrible cycle

So hard to really internalize this. Even when he says it my brains first reaction is "helping ten is better than helping one!" But i think the point is that as soon as you start letting numbers enter your head, you lose sight of the humanity of the person in front of you. His ability to treat everyone he met like the only person in the entire world was part of what made him so special

Koko, the female gorilla, watched his show regularly, so Mister Rogers flew to California and met with her at the conservancy. She immediately gently put her arms around him and she carefully took off his tennis shoes, including loosening the shoelaces, and socks. (Definitely warched the show!😅) He showed Koko the kind of attention he's talking about here. At the end of the visit, he told her they were friends now. She crossed her arms across her chest, which was her sign for love. 😊 ❤ She also loved Robin Williams.
