Hello, To be honest with you I’m more frustrated than ever. I’ve the epix 2 and the AWU and can’t decide which one should I keep. The Epix gives more data but it’s not accurate at all while the AWU is the best accurate watch in the market. With which one should I go ? I’ve no idea. I’ve been watching tons of videos, reading tons of comments and getting tons of confusions. Please help 🙏🙏🙏

Hey! Happy to help. I am more focused on value from Watch when it comes to training and recovery, and feel like there's no competition: Garmin is by far the best. Even with the combination of apple watches I shared about I don't feel like they in any way Provide the comprehensive holistic summary of information. There are only two areas that Garmin has less accuracy. Sleep stages and workout tracking heart rate, which I have found to be about 90% accurate so feel it is sufficient. What inaccuracies are you finding? As in that I think it comes down to your primary use for the watch. If it is for the myriad of smart watch functions possible than the Apple Watch is superior, if it is for in-depth training and recovery details with some smart watch functions, then Garmin all the way.

@@fitgearhunter Thank yo so much Fit Gear Hunter. I really appreciate your time and effort. When I watch your videos you convince me to go with the epix 2 and when I watch this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mqqkp5xpzLDOoo0.html he convinces me to go with Apple Watch ultra 😵‍💫. Pretty confusing right! At the same time sleep tracking and Heart rate accuracy affect the in-depth training and recovery also. I hope that Garmin will fix sleep tracking and heart rate accuracy with a software update. Do you have any updates about those bugs been fixed? A tons of thanks sir

Training Today remove HRV outliers, is a native AW App not depending on iPhone and it’s Ready To Train score compares to my Garmin FR955 now … YES! The notable exception being very poor sleep having less impact, if HRV is not too bad. It is also working well without a subscription, and there is a life time buying option as well 👍👍👍

@highlanderes
@highlanderes 6 ай бұрын
@@JamesTicehurst Traning today followed Garmin better. Installing Athlytic, Training today and HRV tracker, it became clear that when Athlytic is overly positive (often) compared to Training today, I can see the outliers clearly in HRV tracker. If Training today ignore or smooth out outliers I don’t know, but it works. Athlytic I use for excertion, and it now has a stress parameter fairly similar to Garmin, that I find very useful, especially sleep values.

Correct me if I am wrong here, and I am an avid watcher of the channel, but you are looking at 4-7 apps to collect fitness, training, rest, recovery, all that stuff.... VS having Garmin connect. I have an apple watch and a Fenix 7. I keep trying to move ot the apple watch to use as a daily driver... but in the end I have to chase down multiple apps and/or multiple tools to do what Garmin does by default. And the most annoying points of apple watch, Constantly over heats in saunas, and I cannot take it off my wrist and workout even though it's hooked up to a HRM. I was hoping this video would give me some way to stay with it.... but I just can't. Thank you for the video and the update, it has helped me make my choice faster.

Hi Hunter, great video. I ask you a technical question with the measurement intervals of HR, HRV and SPo2, is it worth an apple watch? I ask because I think that the HRV takes it only once at night and the HR 1 minute, etc. In other words, seeing this interval that can be very long to give a good validity to the measurements, is it recommendable to buy an Apple Watch?
@fitgearhunter
@fitgearhunter Жыл бұрын
Great question! The AW takes HR measurements between 1-10 minutes, so not really often enough. I think you should only consider an AW if you were dependent on the smartwatch features! The HRV is only 2-3 hours out of the box unless you activate the afib setting as well. I think it's not worth it versus Garmin's options!

@Fitgearhunter: how did you ‘validate’ that the data interpretation of these apps, for example Chipr, are actually correct? In my experience the apps is this video all give different values for the same metric. I don’t put my money on apps being developed by (with all due respect) a hobbyist that has no science based backing such as Marco Altini, Whoop, Oura or Firstbeat (Garmin)
@fitgearhunter

Sure thing - that is actually the point! They are all 3rd party small teams making guesstimates on what their algorithm would define as 'recoverd' or 'strained' etc - so non are validate-able - so none are that easy to say they are reliable
