As a word of advice I would say if you are doing anything with the airbag, then disconnect the battery first.

Yes you can't turn the wheel so you turn the wheel, take 1 screw out then turn the other way then disconnect the battery.

Also press a brake a few times try to honk a horn or use wipers to make sure there is absolutely no power in the car It's no joke when that airbag blows up in yours arms right in your face

I want to do this is on the new B9 A4. I am coming from a B8 into the B9 and need a flat bottom wheel (find it easier for quicker driving), how much do you think the whole procedure would cost including the wheel etc? I want it done from a garage or Audi themselves (probably won't do it), and want the same wheel as my car is manual so no paddle shifters. Any suggestions/advice?

No. everything is the same size. No need to transfer anything from the old airbag or steering wheel. The b8.5 airbag and steering wheel are plug and play

This should work on my B8 A4 2.0T Tiptronic even though my factory steering wheel doesn’t have the paddle shifters. That shouldn’t be a problem, correct?

Hector Aguiar yes it should work just fine, and if your new wheel has paddle shifters and your car at the moment doesn’t, dont worry you can always activate them with vagcom (super easy process if you are familiar with vagcom)

Clayton yes!. You can install the re style shift know which is the same as the s4 dsg shift knob, u just need to use a heat gun and turn the plastic 90 degree feel free to dms if u have any questions @a4_b8_avant

Yes they do if your car has shifters already. If your car doesn’t have them you need to activate them

It's basically the same method for your car. As long as you're using a face-lift airbag (off of a B8.5 car) with a B8.5 wheel, it doesn't matter

No need for coding if your car has paddle shifters already. Otherwise you need to activate them with vagcom.

when you removed the airbag from the new wheel, you had a lot of space to put the flat screw driver in there to pry the tabs open. do you think it would be possible to do that easily with the wheel in the car? I have a 2016 a5 with the new style wheel but its round and i want to change it to flat bottomed

dudekidPL yes is super easy to do in the car, pull the steering wheel tours you and get a little flat get screw driver and pop the airbag out, we have some flat bottom steering wheels for sale

Angel Breceda Everything should be a direct fit. We’ve swapped the rectangular airbags to the circle air bags before. So I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

Romeo J Picasso yes everything works as normal, if you upgrade the wheel make sure it has the mode buttons, if it has the arrows its not gonna work those are for the a3,a6 and a7

Please help I want to buy Audi A4 B8 facelifted version (from 2012 to 2015) And I see that some cars has old style wheel, and some cars has new style (flat bottom) wheel At first, I though that new style wheel are comes with every facelifted model, and old style wheel comes in every pre-facelift model (from 2008 to 2012), but I see a lot of facelifted cars with old style wheel So, is this new style wheel is an option on facelifted A4 B8 or what ? I just can't understand why same A4 models have different wheels

Curtis Axel hello, feel free to Dm on instagram, we always have steering wheels for sale, so yeah any 2013 and up with the facelift doesnt come with the flat bottom, only the s line models, or s package, but you can install the flat bottom to any car as long as you get the correct airbag and controllers

Will_25 the steering wheel will fit any audi a3,s3 a4 and s4 but the controls wont work unless they said mode in the left side, air bag might be different since a3 only have one stage air bag

The airbags for the Audi A4 is the airbag with a dual stage Single stage is for the a3,a6 and a7 models

Javi Mv yes you always want to make sure to disconnect the battery before replacing any airbags (safety first) Yes no warnings at all

@@kamil9306 no coding was need for the us market one. If you are in Europe might be different. But everything works on mine and it was just a plug and play.

Yes if you have a b8 audi a5 and wanna upgrade to a new b8.5 steering wheel, you can, all you need is the new wheel from any a4 s line, a5 or even s4, s5 just make sure the air bag is from an a4 or a5, i think s4 and s5 airbag is different You have to discount the battery, but we have done it hundreds of time and no problem but i highly recommend to discount battery!

CHRSTNNNNN yes you can just buy the new bag and it should work perfect no faults or air bag lights No everything still works perfect even with new steering wheel including, volume and all the good stuffs

Look Behind you we actually got it from a junk yard thats why they gave it to us with the steering column, we have extra one for sale but it doesn’t come with air bag

Aesthetic Werks hi guys, do you still have the extra one without air bag? I want to put it on my 2011 Audi A4 and mine oem has no paddle shifters, would it work? Also, would I be able to put the old air bag from my round steering wheel to this flat-bottom one? And how much would you like to sell for? Thank you!
