What is the best infant floor seat for your baby? I've researched them all as well as personally tried several brands with my baby but in the end, I ONLY recommend one brand, the Upseat, for developmental reasons, and in this video, I will be doing a review of it based on my personal experience and honest opinion. The Upseat is the only seat on the market that actually promotes good posture and healthy hip development in your baby! It was developed in Canada with the help of leading physical therapists for that very purpose!

After trying a few different seats out over the months and researching many more, I came across the Upseat and concluded it was the best option for my baby. So when Upseat reached out to me to do a video collaboration and actually try out their baby floor seat, I of course said yes to the opportunity! Please know, this video is 100% my honest opinion and I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Upseat!
In this video I'll break down the comparison to the other seats my baby has tried (Bumbo and Fisher Price Sit Me Up Floor Seat) and why the Upseat is 100% the only baby floor seat I'll use with my baby and recommend to you as the best and healthiest infant floor seat option.
Right around 4 months or so, you may begin looking for an infant chair/seat and with so many on the market, the decision can seem overwhelming. A few things to consider when researching is how the leg openings are placed (they should be wide and allowing your baby's legs to rest naturally at their side, touching the floor for stability, not forced straight together!). The other thing to look for is a seat that encourages good posture. The last thing you want to do is put your baby in a seat that may work against their development. I hope I can save you some time and let you know, I've looked far and wide, and honestly, I don't see any other seats that compare to the Upseat with it's natural leg placements and tilted seat that causes your baby to sit with good posture no matter what. Most seats have leg openings that force the legs together plus don't allow the feet to touch the ground. And the seat design often leaves your baby sitting slumped uncomfortably. Not the Upseat! In my opinion, it is the best option for a baby floor seat in 2021.
Please note, infant floor seats DO NOT help your baby learn to sit up. Lots of tummy time and chances to move their little bodies is the best thing for that! If a company is claiming their seat will help your baby learn to sit up, that is not an accurate statement. Infant seats are meant to be a safe place to set your baby when you need to have your hands free, they will not teach your baby to sit.

Hi mamas! I hope this video will help you decide on the best infant floor seat for your baby! Although a baby chair will not necessarily help your baby learn to sit up any faster, it can be a very useful product to have on hand for those times when you need to set your mobile baby down in a safe place and know they aren't going anywhere while you put the laundry in the washer, do your makeup, dishes, you know, the short tasks that can feel so hard to complete with a young baby on your hands! this was very helpful. I was thinking of getting an upseat and I was offered a bumbo from a friend. Now I know I was wise to just stick with the upseat brand. I would like to know what your thoughts are in regards to usage vs putting them on the floor or in a jumper? My son is VERY active and loves to jump, when he sits he prefers to lounge and still at 9 months doesn't like to sit in an upright position for longer then 15min. He LOVES to stand and jump. Do you think this would be something only calmer babies enjoy?

I’m so glad this was helpful! My baby is super active too and has been since birth so I can totally relate! To answer your question, I wish I had the Upseat earlier when she was about 4 months old. Because now I feel she is too strong to stay seated or at least to sit in the chair without trying to force it over or move it around 😂 Personally, at least for my active baby, I don’t think an infant seat of any kind will really work after 6 months or so. Now (at 11 months) I just put her on the floor inside her play pen (that could be something you could consider getting) or in her jumper/activity center like you mentioned if I need to do a quick task. Working on independent play has been the most helpful thing at this point! Otherwise I’d never be able to get anything done! 🤪 Active babies are so much fun though! And I still 100% think the Upseat is the best infant seat out there but for active babies, it probably only works earlier on (unless you’re just wanting it for a booster seat at the table!) Hi Christy, what age limit is recommended for the Upseat? My baby is 7.5 months old and can sit on the floor by himself, but at times, will he need a seat?

The Upseat website says the age limit is 2 years last I checked. To be honest though, I think infant seats are the most helpful when a baby is just learning to sit or maybe can’t quite sit yet. Once they become really mobile (like when they learn to crawl or pull up) it becomes very difficult to convince them to stay seated for long, at least that’s how it is for my baby. She has always been super active! So maybe not every baby is like that! I wish I had the Upseat earlier on so I could have gotten more use out of it when I needed a safe place to set her before she was crawling around. But now there’s just no way she’s going to sit still without trying to tip over or move around the seat! 🤣 She is 11 months now btw. What I started doing once she became mobile was to put her in a baby play pen or if I just need to do a quick task I’ll set her in her jumper or activity center or on the floor near my and just keep an eye on her. In my experience, although I still think the Upseat is the best seat out there for young babies that can’t quite sit yet or aren’t super mobile yet, I definitely don’t think baby seats are an absolute necessity. And I think a play pen or a baby-proofed play room is the easiest for when you need to get things done! I’ve been working on encouraging my baby in independent play which makes that even easier!
