Lol here's me watching this and haven't even built a base before 😂

I can personally say that the Cherno apartments are great, especially the tall ones with a single ladder to the top. A lot of rooms to utilize for storage and a generally a quiet part of the map. Plus if you have neighbouring friends, you can look out for one another with ease 💯

A lot of these places are some of the worst places to build imho. A good base is not just how defendable it is or how much you can fit inside. A base that cannot be found is a base that cannot be raided. These bases seem to be posted inside of high route areas. And inside of Tisy itself would be instantly raided, probably before you could get a gate up. For a good base location, I would recommend the farmhouse north of Tisy. It's mostly the second floor. But you can set up around 5-10 gates leading to the upstairs room, which means 5-10 gates to break to get to your stored gear. North of Tisy in these fields are lower pop areas, and as this is not directly connected to any town, it means players will have to travel to get supplies for a raid. It also has large open land around the building which means less cover for approaching players when you scope out the windows. You can build in the shed outside too to store your vehicles and put all the car parts in the house base overnight with the vehicle bodies locked in the shed. Which now means two bases have to be raided to get the vehicles out. Planks can be found not that far away, about 2 towns drive east to the lumber yard, a heli crash site is within sight and on route to tisy, so if it spawns you will be one of the first to see it. Its one of the few houses on the edge of the map, so again not much traffic of other players, and you can build those 5-10 gates inside the building, so from outside no player structures can be seen unless they scope through a window and see you block the window with planks. On the lower floor, you can build a flood gate too, which means that even if the gate is opened or closed, it still is blocking access to the base, when open it blocks the stairs and when closed it rotates 90 and blocks the main door.

My favorite kind of base is where you have no walls and just a tent and some crates so deep in the middle of a random part of the woods that no one ever finds you anyways.

I just like to do a large car tent in the woods, medium tent, barrels, crates, stone oven inside with a locked gate with barbed wire on it covered in the camo net. Not worth building anything massive since I don’t got friends who play the game.

God I miss my Green MT. base.. I put so much work into that place.. of note, that outer and inner wall thing.. if you put walls in between the concrete and the fence you can close off that entry point forcing enemies to come at you from the front. Plus, it gets gassed.. which I'm sure I don't have to tell you, feels great when it happens while you're under attack

Interesting video. I much prefer properly securing the locations in your "Don't build here" video. Alot of these places are 100% certain to get raided, like the Tisy ones. Are these for console only ? Because a heli would make short work of entering some of the bases.

For at least 2 of the base options I saw you put a “barbed wire trap” at the tops of ladders. I love that Idea but am not well versed with how barbed wire works. How would you make those traps and get into your own base without getting cut quite a lot while putting in the code?

I'll be honest, good editing and video, but half of these base locations are pretty bad, including the Cherno silo towers, as it's too big for easy defense, and this. Where you said easy defense on this tower, it's quite simple to pass the barbed wire, you just jump on the yellow block/pipe, tower. And you're free, and you can gain easy access to the base. :Debunked barbed wire trap: - 2:49. Just jump on the yellow thingy.

Novy Lug is underrated , ran a huge base out there for ages

Not me at literally the northern most part of the map in a barn that absolutely nobody will ever care to check with how out of the way it is lol

Only thing is with prison theirs not many trees so you’d probably have to travel back to land

All these ground level bases are great on paper.. until a 'swimmer' comes along.

anything with an acces door can be blow up..so..no e of this beside the one entry stair entry...so apartaments it is..or tents in the woods..or nomad style..

All great locations other than prison because people can glitch under ground and get in it just happened to me people really love to use the under the ground glitch to break into ground level bases

You can free build on console now. So anywhere can be your base.

The best place is missing. The tunnel. Just two entrances and rest is sealed off by ground.

I have found maybe 3 tents in my 200 hours on DayZ. I don't get how people find all these storage containers. I play on Loot+++ servers.

On number 5 is an alt account necessary to open the barbed wire trap or do u just stand there and get cut a bit while u open the code

As a solo player i haven't made a base yet just a few shelters deep into the woods camouflaged by the evergreen trees , isn't bases easy to raid with grenades tho? About 5-8 to blow up the main entrance then loot? Always wanted to make 1 but as a solo player I seem it might be safer deep into the woods with no fence

I'm trying to build communes and every damn time someone raids it and shoots me in the back. Even if it's just walls or I'm surrendering. No crates, tents, digs, or stashes of any kind and my shit still gets destroyed after i catch smoke for no reason. Wish there was a way to leave a sign or message or something to let people know I'm trying to start a community. The shoot-on-sight solo survivalist shit gets old after awhile and I'm trying to get AWAY from COD-minded idiots who think in purely K/D ratios.
