It's an exciting feeling, especially when you've put in all that work to be successful. We're not blood thirsty kills and get joy from killing the animals, it's a combination of all the hard work and being grateful for the animal. A lot of people don't understand that, but hunters care about animals a lot more than people in these comments haha! Glad you understand it, thanks for watching!

1971 saw my grandfather shoot a bear with an old 6 gauge double barreled shot gun near point blank. 800 lbs he said. Had come around the cabin once too often so he considered it a threat. The power of that gun frightened me. I was just a small kid. Pushed my 6'5" 255 lbs grandfather back a bit. There was nothing recognizable as a head. He told me that gun could cut a 12 inch wide tree in half. From what I saw I believed him. Taught me to be wary of bears.

I'm an italian hunter, i hunt pheasants and other birds with my english pointers only for the meat. I could never shot such a magnificent animals like wolves, bears or cougars. I hope you have your good reasons to kill those bears. If they don't represent any danger or problem for the rural economy or for the local people, It would be a shame and a moral crime killing them. I understand the necessity of controlling the predators, but for me hunting is primarily respecting the prey, not shooting just for fun. Honestly, i really Hope you have your good reasons. This Is not a criticism or an attack, just my thought. Greetings from Italy

Did you read the blurb at the beginning about how drastic bear are on the elk population? This is predator management and if it is not done the population of other species’ will suffer. Italy and basically all of Western Europe have wiped out pretty much all the predatory wildlife many years ago so this type of management is not necessary there, but in North America it is to maintain a balanced ecosystem.

@@retirednavy8720 My friend, i guess you did not understand the sense of my comment. I don't know if bear meat is good or not, and it's not a topic about where the bears are hunted, it's only about the reasons for doing it, stop. I could expose the same argouments under an european video. If you eat bear meat and you hunt respecting the laws AND the animals, for me there is no problem at all. I Just added that i could never shot an animal like those, but it's my problem/limit, right? I'm an hunter, but i hate poachers, they destroy the nature, while the hunter respect it. Now you understand?

Yeah! They don't have to shoot the bears either, it's a real shame they do! All they have to do is take photos with the bears and if they're nice people then the bears will let them take selfies together too. I've seen it before and the photos turned out great! You could even see in the photos how they all had a picnic together. A real life picnic with the bears. It was so cool!!! The bears had a great time and feasted on what the hikers had brought them, you could see the joy in the bears faces as they chomped down on the certified organic vegetarian fed Californian male and females. The females are small and don't have much meat so it's good the beta male brought two of them along as appetizers before offering himself up as the main course. To settle the sweet tooth ol Mr Bear had going on, they females were sure leave their used tampax there along with tampons so Mr Bear could floss too. It was a great time had by all in attendance, I just wish that every single progressive liberal democrat in California could experience this too. Maybe we could start a go fund me thing for them,,,,, just say'n....

Great question Julie, most states require that you take the meat, skull, fur, and certain things to be checked in, and then some states don't require you to keep the meat. Excellent vid, there were some real bruins taken. I bowhunt for whitetail here in WI and there have been numerous 600 to 800lb black bears in the area. Thats a fawn eating machine come springtime, the state needs to up the kill quota like yesterday.

They do need to up the tag quota in WI, a 800lb black bear is huge! Bears know where fawns are getting birthed and will grind an area looking for them, the really do some damage on fawns and most people don't realize it. Thanks for watching!

I had an M-16 in the army in basic training. I had the 2nd highest scores on the rifle range out of 180 guys. The furthest target was 300 meters. I think sometimes I was knocking it over with the dirt in front of it. When I'd look down the barrel at that target, my front sight looked the size of a bowling ball. No scope. After all that, I ended up working in an office in D.C. rather than going to Viet Nam. These guys are using scopes and making some real long shots. With the wind and distance, that ain't easy! My older brother used to throw dimes in the air and shoot them with a .22! Try that sometime!

@@Cosmo-ms2hd Wow! Never heard that before. No scope? My best friend in highschool was a marine. He went to Viet Nam and has told me some scary stories. I worked in the Pentagon and got a papercut one day. The most famous sniper in history is Simo Hayha from Finland. He killed 505 Russians. They called him "White Death." His average kill shot was about 150 yards. No scope..Another farmboy like me..

The fact that people can’t comprehend something as basic as wildlife control is astounding. Even someone simple minded should be able to understand the term “check and balance”. Life and death is apart of nature and will always be apart of nature. The check and balance system makes sure that this cycle is able to continue without disruption so that chaos is unable to occur. For example, if there are too many predators in the wild, what do you think is going to happen to all the prey? Obviously the prey will have a huge decline in population and that will directly affect predators as they won’t have anything to eat declining the predator’s population too. This is why every animal that you take home from a hunt gets recorded so that we know if we are still able to hunt these animals in the future. Hunters don’t just hunt because they are “psychotic” but because we care about the environment. Please educate yourself before you start bashing hunters because of your lack of knowledge. Thank you. Edit: I totally understand why someone would choose not to hunt and completely respect their decision. Some people just love animals and I totally get that. However it only becomes a conflict when you start spreading hate. If we as a society learned to mutually respect one another and educated ourselves, we wouldn’t be having these conflicts. People are allowed to have different views without it being negative.
@JoeFather420

i appreciate the big words from a hunter, its rare. and you're right, life and death is apart of nature, but it keeps it self in rotation, in balance. if you cared about the environment you would go to protests, fund campaigns, reduce your meat and dairy intake, grow your own fruit and veg. yes, some populations need to be kept in control, but the majority of those are invasive species who are out of control BECAUSE of humans in the first place. you're not creating balance, youre taking it away. people think you're psychotic because instead of peacefully trying to help the environment, you use guns and bows to kill animals, animals that are often times doing absolutely nothing to you. and a lot of the time, the death isnt instant, its painful and slow. so not only do you guys kill animals, but hanging heads on your walls and posting it online, celebrating how you've murdered a wild animal. id suggest getting off your high horse buddy

And I also admire the powerful rifles, and the optics, that u guys use...and just being out there, in the unspoiled, wilderness. But watching the reaction of those bears, when they get...WHANGED...the bear doesn't know from next Thursday what had just happened.If I were out there,not sure I could just do that...I'm not condemning anyone...maybe I've seen too many KZfaq vids of wild animals doing their thing. But if u want to make it more sporting-next time give the bear a gun!

I live in Florida so we hunt hogs and deer. Hogs destroy farm land and deer well deer tastes delicious. I’m not sure what the point of hunting bears is other than a mount or a trophy. Do people actually eat bear meat? I know people hunt sheep, elk, bison, and deer for meat I just didn’t know they did that for bears.
@MuleyFreak

Yes we eat the bear meat, you have to make sure to cook it to an internal temperature of 160 degrees to avoid trichinosis. Bear isn't as tasty as deer, elk, bison or even hogs but it's still pretty damn good!

RB: The word you are looking for is "sniping"...snipping would be something you do with scissors. That said, hunting means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. I dont identify with the guys with 60K pickup trucks and a 3K dog, the 2500K shotgun and their 300 dollar "upland game pants" when they chase chukars or quail, but Im at least glad they are hunters. We dont have to like the way someone else hunts but we should support it no matter what.
