मैंने खेत की बाउंडरी पर सरकारी नर्सरी से नींबू के पौधे लगाये है 4 फुट की दूरी पर एक वर्ष पूर्व अब काफी अच्छी ग्रोथ ले कर चल रहें हैं आने वाले 2----3 सालों में जंगली जानवरों से राहत मिलने की उम्मीद है

Thank you for the information. I am planning to plant Karonda plants as bio fencing and I have couple of questions regarding the same. 1. I have heard that roots of Karonda are intrusive and will affect the plants nearby. Are trenches at borders necessary to make sure that bio fencing will not affect the other plants/trees inside? 2. Do you prune them regularly to avoid uncontrolled growth?

1. That's not true. Trench is also not necessary as long as you have a better and more convenient way of irrigating those plants. This trench is also used to manage excess water in the main field if required 2. Yes pruning may required after 3rd year to keep them in shape

plant any of branching variety of bamboo ( Kantanga is the most dangerous) at a very close distance ...3 to 4 feet, depending on the kind of fence you want. Tulda can be planted in a double row. Bamboos with coronda ( Konkan Bold) is a perfect combination for a dense and forbidden fence. But remember they also attract snakes!

Generally they don't because of it's tart and acidic taste. However its best to have some protection/care at the initial stages.

These are pretty effective as they are very hard to penetrate due to their taxonomy

Hello, First of all thanks for this lovely information. Sorry but I have some questions for you. 1) Can we mix Karonda with other plants like Madhumalti, Bougainville, Mahendi, Bamboo, BajraDanti and any other plants? 2) Will that combination supports each other? Will animal eats the plants I have listed? 3) I have also heard that bamboo will make the soil infertile and will act as a barrier to other plant growth. 4) How long will each of these take to grow of a minimum of 5 to 6 feet? 5) Cost of the plants purchased from Nursery? Thanks mate. Glad you found it useful All the option you listed there are great options for buffer zone. Infact I encourage people to mix and match to get both visual appeal and increased biodiversity. I have bamboo, Madhumiti, Bougainville and Mahendi as well and so far no damage by animals.
