Surprisingly, some interesting things happen in this video... a girl dancing, a stuffed bow, lifeguards clean the ocean, some cushions take a swim, etc.... I would like to go back to Newport Beach, I had a great time. If you live there, what boating events are worth covering?

Well you are right next to the Wedge, which you could probably excellent footage of when it goes off. Sometimes people surf in the channel when it is huge.

HB airshow is the major event. Some of the larger regattas are cool for sailors like Midwinters and CHOC regatta. A lot of people watch the outrigger canoe races from Catalina to Newport. Or just come down on a summer day and watch the chaos, summer is the best time, I'll show you around, I grew up here and still live here!

The water out there looks much clearer/cleaner than the east coast in your videos. I could sit out there and watch boats go by all day long.

I totally was having that same thought while watching this video. And really, the people gathered together, particularly the large and very large to massive boats, somehow gave off a different flavor but exactly how or in what way I just can't quite capture the vibe I was getting. Perhaps the Miami boater community kind of seems like south Florida isn't or wasn't until recently, been their native home place but more of a playground for the have's and have more's. In contrast, there seems to be more of a wholesome, albeit privileged and perhaps less likely to get crazy and show their asses.

I think the biggest factor is leftover income. Florida is relatively cheap so even the grocery store baggers might have a little boat. California is so expensive after you buy your house it might not have anything leftover to purchase a boat with.

Thanks for the upload - some of these boats I have never seen - enjoyed the drone footage - it gives a better perspective of your surrounding - I love to see the marinas they call their port.

etravix I’m in Melbourne Australia and it’s stinking bloody today with a forecast top of 44 Celsius, currently 41.5 which 111 and 107 Fahrenheit respectively. I’m worried my boat will turn into a melted blob of fiberglass 🤣🤣🍺🍺🍺

Hey Zippy, that unID'd sportfisher is a Pacifica 38. Very rare, only about 15 of them ever made. Pacifica had a yard just up from the harbor in Costa Mesa. Belongs to a friend of ours and fellow Newport Harbor Yacht Club member.

+ZipZap Power, Hello from Great Britain. I believe the mystery boat I'd you're searching for at 7.10 seconds is a Sabre Yachts boat? Going by the bow rise which is almost vertical, so possibly 43 foot Sabre?? Great boats. And yes I love your channel. Merry Christmas from Norwich in the county of Norfolk; here in good old Blighty! Merry Christmas to you! I've been to Blighty and have a very close friend from Malvern! I was thinking Sabre as well, definitely has the design style of Sabre, but the port hole windows and vent don't match the style.. I couldn't find any Sabre with the diamond/oval style port hole windows..

How tricky is that inlet versus what you see at Haulover? Looks wider and potentially calmer.

There is essentially no current in this inlet during tide changes, it feeds a tiny bay.
