The way you talked about books, with that sense of bursting forth with joy, was amazing to behold. As a reader who finds that sort of sacred awe in the reading process diminishing with time, I was left smiling by the end of your video. Thank You.

So many great books! I really loved The Wayward Children series too. Red at the Bone is a book I for sure want to pick up this year - I just finished Jacqueline Woodson's memoir, Brown Girl Dreaming, and loved it.

May I suggest "The Revisioners" by Margaret Wilkerson Sexton. Its a dual perspective of 2 black women, in 2 different time periods. Very beautiful story about family, faith and sisterhood. I think you'd like it. Admittedly I struggled with "Middle Game", it wasn't so much the magic of the story but the descriptions of the magic esp when it came to math. But Im proud of myself that I finished the book...probably smarter for it ;)

Thanks for the suggestion! I have The Revisioners on top of my desk at the moment, I hope to get to it soon! :) And yeah, Middlegame isn't the easiest dark fantasy book to get through - you're rightfully proud for finishing it!! ✨:D
