i also wait until January to reflect on the past year. i never really understood the trend of "best of the year" lists coming out in like early December.

I read crime and punishment and it was also my favourite! I love watching your channel because it gives such fresh books, Im sick of the same rotation of hyped books. Also the Arab touch is lovely as Im from an Arab speaking country too! Salams from Algeria (also I see a little life on your shelf did you read it? 👀)

Hello dear! Never thought I'll have subscribers from Algeria!! That's so cool. Yes I read A Little Life. A very depressing book. Would never recommend to anyone.

New to this channel! I found you through this video. You had some great selections. I love the entire Wayward Children series, but I agree that Lost and Found was the strongest. I read the whole set in April. I also really enjoyed The Body Keeps Score. Such a thoughtful discussion of trauma and the effects on the body. I’ve subscribed and look forward to more of your content soon!

I think, January is a month that is an in between years thing. I wrap up the last year in January and it often takes the whole month (bookkeeping, backing up stuff etc) I don‘t have time for that in December 😅😅 and nothing ever happens in January anyways (in my life at least) 😊 so, perfect time for this video

☺️ I really love the Wayward Children series. I think it's a portal thing.😂😂 I must get the new release soon! I have a question of all the doors in Lost in the Moment and Found... did you also feel there was a world you wanted more of?... For me, it was the doorway that led to the Catlike People. I agree it was a darker book. I think it was because it was themes the author survived herself. Empire of Gold! 🥰 📖☺️📚📚📚

I’m so interested in comparative religion! I never studied it in school or anything but I was always encouraged to learn more by my family. I really need to revisit the Daevabad books. I read the first one and then never wound up getting book two because I forgot! I think if you like it, you might like the Jade City series by Fonda Lee. They’re set in my city and similarly a fantasy series which draws heavily from myth, specifically Chinese myth and legend.

I read Amina Al-Sirafi when it came out. Then I went back and read the Daevabad Trilogy. I loved all of the books. I want everyone to read it! I am also just now starting the Wayward Children series. I found your channel through your Wayward Children video. And Convenience Store Woman really got me thinking. I really loved the character growth in that one.

Thank you for the interesting video. In Poland "Crime and Punishment" is a mandatory lecture in high schools. (There is - or at least was when I was a kid - a list of mandatory books you have to read in order to pass the exams).

@@rananajjar Haha the reality is most of the students don't read it and only read the reviews of the booksand synopsis to know mthe main facts and pass the exams. Ony those who really enjoy books, would be happy to read the whole book.

Good to know you can read books on a bus where you live. In England where I live it is almost impossible as buses shake a lot due to potholes. And I am not exagerrating. Can read on a train but on a bus its almost impossible.
