At 64 I'm still riding my 80's mountain bikes and single speed road bikes and will be for some time. But I can see a day when I'll probably need some assist and e-bikes will allow me to extend my riding indefinitely. Having that option is perfect for me, I don't want to stop riding when I hit the physical limitations of my age.

As an owner, I did find the display (initially) was not working properly, after some investigation I noticed the control cable was being pulled out of the unit by the spiral binding, so after freeing it up and tie strapping the cable to the handlebars, I managed to get a useable control unit. I bought a rack from Decathlon [Bike Pannier Rack 500 26-28 Disc] which was easy to fit although it didn't have the two machine screw's fixing for the bottom. The handlebar is a bit long and I might shorten it in the future. The warranty card is a bit worrying as it seems some major components are only guaranteed for 6 months! It does sound like you are driving a milk float when going uphill. The front shock's are more springs than dampeners and can snap back with a jolt. Included in the stuff was a e-moped conversion which would have left you with an illegal bike. The brakes squeal all the time, I don't need the bell. The power is a bit erratic, be careful in mixed pedestrian/bike area's when you are on mode 4, as the power kick can catch you unawares, I just rotate the crank a couple of spins when I want a little power. I used my shock absorber seat post from my old bike as even with padded shorts its a bit of a hard ride.

I bought the T1 a couple of weeks ago. Really nice bike, but there were issues. I'm not sure if the provided tool wasnt up to scratch, or the screws were too tight from factory, but the tool chewed taking the handlebar bracket off as did the mudguard ones. Got it assembled anyway, but had further issues with the gears. The bash guard was pre installed and had bent inwards so the gears wouldn't shift properly. Had to pull it outwards with some grips. Overall a really nice bike and handles hills really well.

Good stuff, not much I'd change aside from brakes and drive train! With that said, if you already have a bike, you can get a very high performance TSDZ2 and battery kit to add to your existing bike, I did for about 500 pounds on my full suspension and it's been great

I was looking at this as my partner suffers from asthma and struggles with cycling. I think I would get an air fork from Airbike UK (I have one they are really good) bin the 3x, and if it's a freewheel on the back (which it looks like) get an 8 speed freewheel and do a 1x8 setup. This would shed some weight.

My personal view is cheaper e bikes should really be fully rigid, granted you don't have the slight comfort of the suspension but atleast then the cost of said suspension can be put further into better quality/more durable parts fitted from factory

I bought a very similar one from RadPower here in the US. Normally costs $1,000 USD but got it on sale for $500. I got it for guests who come in from out of town and want to move about with my family (who ride bikes to go about our daily business). As a whole I’ve been pleased with it. I honestly don’t ride it myself all that much but at such a low price it was well worth it to have another e-bike sitting around. One call out is the brakes. I don’t totally trust cable actuated disk brakes for such a heavy bike. My other e-bike (a cargo) has hydraulic disk brakes and all of my other bikes are regular cable rim brakes. Not sure why but this is the one thing that worries me.

Have you looked at a mid-motor conversion kit like a TongSheng TSDZ2B? It is ideal for converting an older hardtail MTB to ebike, for a few hundred pounds including motor kit and battery. Add in a cheap 1x drivetrain like a Microshift or a Sunrace M9 to have a nice range of gears instead of the old 11-32 or 11-34 cassettes.

Isn't SunRun a knockoff of suntour parts, bit weird to use as an OEM part?

I really like the colour scheme. It looks good for the money. The TZ would have to go. The Altus M310 is far far superior in every way and can pick them up really cheap.

Hey mate, could you do me a HUGE favor and share the default factory controller settings?? I changed something and I was stupid to not write down / make photo's of all the default values. And Eleglide 'support' seems to be incapable of understanding a normal support request. Press + and - at the same time ( with the bike on ) this opens config menu, starting at P0.1 which is display brightness. If you could give me the default values you're seeing when you just press the middle button to cycle through all the settings, that would be HIGHLY appreciated. P0.2 to P1.9 even if some you can't change The bike is really good, it has a good value proposition, but 'support'......

Pity about the 3x7 drivetrain, definitely a bad choice for an ebike. Much better to have 1x9 Altus like the Halfords Carreras. But seems better than many budget Ebikes. I'd be interested to see what it's range actually is, I'm guessing 25 miles

It’s not a 1 by, it’s a 21 speed (3x7), the front mech can be seen when he’s unboxing/building the bike.

Just realised this is what you’d do in terms of upgrades. Thought you were listing the spec. Sorry 😂
