Best Camping Chair 2021! Nemo Stargaze Recliner Luxury Camping Chair Review & Setup. I've been searching for the perfect camping chair for years now and I think I finally found it. Hi, I'm Amber and in May 2017 I started full time RV living. I started this nomadic journey after selling my house and all my belongings to pursue this crazy dream of traveling full time in an RV and creating incredible memories.
After 1 year of traveling, I sold my 26 foot Winnebago Class C RV for a more nimble Class B van on a Promaster 2500 chassis. Now in my 4th year of RVing in my camper van, I'm still loving this RV lifestyle and being a digital nomad. I almost always boondock in nature and really enjoy that off grid living.

I found them on eBay for $120 bucks! I wonder if they're knock-offs or the real deal. Looks exactly the same w/the bag too. I guess you'd have to take your chances right - just wanted others to know this. ;)

The fact that a product is lightweight always give's me pause cuz of my man ass. 😬But aluminum? okay I can see that. Are you purposely rocking yourself or is that just meant to be like that...rocky. Doesn't have a stiff/still mode?

I love this chair. I picked one up about 3 years ago and everywhere I go people want to try sitting in it. I am definitely a fan and can recommend it to anyone. It's going to be a perfect vanlife addition when my van is ready.

Thanks for the instructional video. I bought this chair quite a while back at REI. I have not tried to set it up yet because twice I forgot to put it in the van. Now all camping trips cancelled due to moving but when I do get to use it I have this video to reference. Happy travels to you and Lilly

I was on the fence for about a year but went ahead and bought one after watching this. I’m glad I used your link so I could support you but honestly for a 200$ chair I was a little under whelmed. It is quite simple to set up and take down and It is VERY well build and sturdy and I do expect it to last but I wouldn’t call it really comfortable. There’s no great place to rest your arms except in your lap, the cup holder-well it better be a well sealed water bottle or it’s dumping directly into your lap, and I’m pretty athletic and it’s awkward to get into and out of. I do love the rocking feature and how easily it reclines but overall it just feels awkward. NOT for people with hip, knee, or mobility issues!

Those “unfold and sit” chairs require a fairly large storage area. These are designed for situations where storage is at a premium.

Love the chair Amber. I will look into one. I have a very hard time in chairs due to my short height and lower lumbar issues. I love my zero gravity recliners and this chair looks to be just as comfortable. I’ll swap the ice tea for Moscato.

I agree with you regarding that silly pillow. Although, it's great to prop a book on to read. When I used mine, I also had a stool for my feet. My only issue is that I suffer from fibromyalgia and can no longer lift myself up out of it. Some day I'll make a platform to place it on so that I can slide out of it. For now I'll stick with my GCI Freestyle Rocker. You should add them to your store as well.

Looks like high quality, still a bit over priced to my thinking. The lifetime guarantee helps to mitigate the price. My biggest concern for an older gentleman, such as myself is how easy is it to get out of?

Very difficult. I can't get out of mine. Even with my husband helping the pain in my knees and wrists overwhelm me. Use her link though and get the gci freestyle rocker. It's better for us folks who can't get up from a squat. 😏

We bought these from Costco but ended up returning. One wouldn’t stop squeaking, we found it wasn’t comfortable for long periods. That could just be us. I hope it is perfect for you!

Dont even need to watch (of course I still did)I agree. I love our nemostargaze luxury. We have two and they live in our van and before we got our van in our teardrop camper. We have had them for two years. We have two of them. One problem we have is when our adult kids camp with us they try to steal them. I may splurge and buy each of them one so I don’t have to give up the nemo! Best chair ever.

Amber thanks for the great demo, and here’s a fun fact! Ray bought these same chairs last month so we could also have something to sit on during our move. (His cousin needed living room furniture and picked up our sofas a week before the movers came.) Well let me just tell you how comfortable these chairs are. Ray fell asleep watching TV and slept in one all night! How’s that for a great review?? Looking forward to using these on the road this week while “stargazing” at some Disney fireworks! Picking up the new Teardrop in Orlando tomorrow, and headed to Ft. Wilderness for a test run. Take care!

Everyone has their limits but when you already blow through crappy chairs and you have back issues the $$ is worth every penny for your health and well-being.

I thought the price tag was hefty also, but we’ve spent that on multiple camp chairs through the years that ended up not lasting or being this comfortable. We are upper 50s now so our backs are thankful!😂 Hopefully this one lasts and will also do well in our salty Florida weather when we are home. It’s does have a lifetime guarantee so that was a selling point too.😊 Take care and happy camping!

TBH, I've probably gone through enough $19 chairs from Walmart, big lots and the like...so I've likely paid for a chair like this already. Those $19 camp chairs do NOT hold up to 300lb and break under less than that with frequent use. So yeah, it's likely worth it. 👍

Good to know! Because of my spinal cord injury, sitting is the most painful part of life. I always have to take my zero gravity chair and custom fitted cushion everywhere. I'll definitely check this out, but I can't buy it through your link as it's to US Amazon and I have to buy from Amazon Canada😔 Travel safe!💗🚙🇨🇦

This is great and the Nemo looks like an excellent chair. You’ve reviewed apps for navigation in the past and I notice you have the Garmin 770 in your Amazon affiliate store. I have a chance to get the Garmin 780 at a discount, but I don’t know how useful it really is. As I’m traveling in an 11.8’ tall Class C and I love traveling secondary roads, do you think the Garmin 780 is worth the expense? Are there more cost effective alternatives? Thanks for any suggestions.

I do think the Garmin RV GPS devices are worth it when you have height weight and width restrictions. It will reroute you around areas you can’t go in an RV. You type in your specific dimensions into the Garmin and it uses that to reroute you.

I'm not sure how I missed showing how to get out of it, but suffice to say it's easy and not a problem even being lower to the ground because you have the hand poles on the left and right side, same as you sat into the chair.

Glad you did a review. But the only position that I would be able to hold for ANY amount of time would be the fully reclined position. But it looks like those bars in that position might rest on the spine too much??? I was hoping you'd mentioned something about those bars but you didn't. I have a horribly progressed Rheumatic disease that affects the entire spine and both shoulders 24/7 and I'm here to tell you it's excruciating. I can't sit upright for more than a few minutes literally. It becomes excruciating stays at that height of pain the rest of the day just for being in that position I have to lean really far forward when I'm sitting in a chair. I don't care how much a chair cost if it's something I can use. But like I said you mentioned nothing about those bars at first I thought okay they're not an issue it's at the top of her shoulders but then when you fully reclined they weren't anymore! I usually have to try out a chair before I buy it. I don't think Amazon's going to let me do that. If YOU COULD ANSWER me I would SO VERY MUCH APPRECIATE it! The only other thing that I really wish it had. I wish it had an attachment for when you are in the reclined position for your legs to be up off of the ground. Because that too takes pressure off of your spine! That's the ONLY thing they didn't think of in my opinion.

Hope you’re feeling better after surgery and getting around better. I had wondered the same as well for me but with the sturdy arm poles that you hold onto to sit in the chair and get it out it might just work. I don’t have a problem with it myself.

As a former PT I wouldn’t recommend it after hip replacement surgery due to the surgery precautions. Please discuss it with your doctor or PT. Best wishes

You can go to an REI and sit in one. They have them on display there so you can try it out before you make any decisions.

I can tell you, you would not be happy with a trailer. 1. In an emergency, you have to leave the trailer to get away in a hurry, with a van just jump up and take off 2. If you pass something you would like to see, it takes effort to find a place to turn around, unlike the van, you can turn around easily. 3. Unless you go with an air stream or Oliver or one of equal quality, you will be disappointed with the quality. 4. If you really want a trailer after you’ve checked them out and you’ve pulled one, parked one, hook and unhooked one, Make sure you have a 4 season, better insulated. We got rid of our trailer after having for about 6 months. Went back to a class c. We bought a Lazy Daze with a rear bath and love it.

219 is hard to swallow. No side table with cup holder. Can't eat in it or pull it up to the camp table to eat. Means you have to bring another chair to eat. More of a glamping chair.

User error perhaps. ☺️Not sure what he was doing to fall out but it states to hold onto the handles sitting or getting out. Maybe he didn’t do that. I’ve never had an issue.

@@AmberJBaldwin I just checked the options, no, there isn't a tip jar. Only the thumbs, save, forward, download, and share. The ladies option was in that line of options. 🦋😊🦋😊🦋😊🦋

Amber, would you please quit referring to your audience as "you guys". I'm a woman! I know it's a common saying but that doesn't make it correct. Try "you friends" or 'you all" or simply make your point and not say "you guys" at all. EX: I have been asked about this product so I thought I'd do a review. Period! Please take this in the intent as a friendly tip, not a criticism. You could start a revolution! Thanks for listening.
