BEST campsite Lake Garda | VW California T5.1 van life in Italy

Leaving the jaw dropping Italian Dolomiti for a change of scenery, Lake Garda, Sirmoine seemed a good place to visit before he head to Switzerland for another dose of mountains.
As I upload this, Caravan Park Sexten posted on their social media that it's actually snowing there! Just over a week since we left, it was mid twenties and sunny 😎
You just can't beat a European road trip in a campervan.
The two of us (Alan & Sarah), along with our chocolate Labrador Oscar like to explore the outdoors in our VW California T5.1 campervan.
We call ourselves the professional moochers as we don't tend to make firm plans, we like to mooch around and see what comes to us.
We used to own a VW T4 converted camper van and toured the UK and Europe for 6 years, before we upgraded to a newer van for comfort and reliability.
Our KZfaq channel was created purely for our own memories, no plans to entertain anyone else. Pictures don't quite create the right memories and videos can include so much detail so, Professional Moochers was created.
The fact other people enjoy our creations and take inspiration from is, is purely a huge bonus.

Lake Garda is one of my favourite places in the world, Went on a coach trip a few years back but I can imagine enjoying it better if I had a campervan, much more freedom.

100% We wouldn’t have been able to sit back and soak it in properly if were on a planned trip. Such a beautiful lake that requires you to stop and take it all in 👌🏼

If you head back to the Dolomites, aim for a place called Corvara in Badia. There’s a free motor home spot at the top of a pass with views to die for! We didn’t have chance to revisit this trip. And, there’s a pizzeria in the small town below which serves an amazing pizza and a great hot chocolate 👌🏼

NEW SUBSCRIBERS!! Well done guys, I nearly forgot about work later today for a minute! Great to see the Shaun and Lizzy reference. We had a Bus and Beyond inspired trip planned for 2020, to also include the Tour de France. The rest, as they say, is history. I catalogue a series of disasters on our channel but, disasters over (almost), we plan to at least get over to France towards the latter end of this year. I will continue to watch your vids and hopefully get some tips from you too. Sun, Beer, mooching and four pizza in a week is the goal.

Great comment, thank you! You can only eat that much pizza if you’re in Italy though 😉 We’re booking eurotunnel for October so hopefully, we’ll be going on another mega trip, if not it’ll be an equally mega trip to the highlands 😁

Just back from Corfu and i always get eaten alive with midge bites whatever i use, this year Barb ordered a light textured cream produced in India which i used and never got bit at all apart from the couple of nights i forgot to put it on 😂😂 I’ll ask Barb what it’s called and where she ordered it from when she gets home from work.

Hey guys another subscriber good job you have a lot of videos as I tune in most evenings with the wife we are planning a van and love yours and it looks a lot newer than 2012 can i ask when you bought yours and how much did you have to pay for it if you don’t mind telling. Did you finance yours over a certain period as we looking at how we are going to finance ours once we can source a model we like keep the videos coming we love em

Glad you like them and thanks for subscribing 🙏🏼 We paid nearly nearly £40k a few years back. We had a 2003 T4 before this and that was amazing too. Get a good solid van and it doesn’t matter how old or how much it costs 👌🏼

Thank you 🙏🏼 Back then, we used a combination of iPhone and GoPro which both do a great job. We do still use both those options for some shots but often use a Sony camera for nearly all shots now.
