These glass ones always end up shattering in to thousands of pieces at some point, it's just a matter of time.

Thanks so much for this review. Your point at 8:25 about the mat dispersing the weight is actually what I have been looking for. I have a cheaper vinyl mat that is compressed in certain areas and has actually permanently flattened those areas of the underlying carpet. Not to mention all the little spike punctures...

as a heavy-set onsite computer tech, called to fix a computer problem for one of my customers, he has one of these glass floor mats. In my head I thought the moment I sat down I was going to shatter his floor mat but to my surprise never did and loved it, I clicked your links and ordered both wheels and glass floor mat, can't wait for both to come in. thanks for posting this video.

So how do you like the floor mat?

as a fat guy, let me tell you its only a matter a of time. I have a heavy duty plastic one and it cracked after about a year

Thank you for the great review. I hope your links are affiliate because I just ordered both the mat and the replacement rollers. I work in my home office many hours a day and night and have worn out a cracked floor mat and find myself pushing and pulling all of the time. Hopefully, this will be a much smoother ride. It's funny how we treat ourselves right back into our work more than we do the rest of our lives... thanks again.

Are you able to compare the roller blade wheels on the glass mat vs the standard chair's casters? I have a glass mat and the standard chair casters, but considering getting roller blade wheels. Not sure if there is any advantage of roller blade wheels on glass. Maybe a little more cushion than the standard casters?

ahhhh I see what you did there "as smooth as glass" good one. lol hahaha cool video

First, thank you for the video. Lots of good information here and I'm glad you have the larger one as I also want a large mat and it's nice to see it compared to someone rolling around on it. My question though; I like to sit in the corner with my keyboard slightly to the left of the corner and my mouse pad on the right (this is so I can spread my arms out and it helps keep from hunching my shoulders and back). I'm concerned if I scoot in on a mat like that I will roll of the edge under the desk. Thoughts?
@waltsreviews902 жыл бұрын
Yup, that could be an issue. Unless your desk legs are wide enough to slide the mat under the desk a few inches you will probably roll off this mat.

What hardness is it? 9H is the hardest for tempered glass but still very much breakable when you land on it to hard at same weaker point

I need something like this but I'm a little apprehensive about buying a glass one, I wonder if anyone makes one in polycarbonate? I work from home and the room I rent has very high pile carpet, I got one of the flexible mats with the little nibs on th ebottom meant for carpet from Office Depot but I think those are meant for like, short pile office carpet, because all that ended up happening is that my chair would sink into the mat and I would have to push really hard against the wall to move back from my desk which made getting up even more of a chore than it already is being physically disabled, lol

What size is your mat?
@RainingMetal2 жыл бұрын
I'm looking to replace my chair mat that my family has had for over a decade. I always hated the thin plastic ones because as someone who practically lives at their computer desk, those plastic, floppy sheets would begin to crack mere months after buying them. So I borrowed the one that my dad has used for his home office, citing its thick, glass material and durability. I've been using it for years now and it still hasn't faltered, but it does shift because my room has a rug floor and the size and shape of the mat doesn't match the dimensions of my desk at all, so it shifts a lot. My desk is a corner-centric desk like yours, but lacks the drawers on the side, so I'm not aiming to align it like yours. If I were to stick the mat diagonally facing towards the inner corner of the desk, would it risk shifting still? Or do you think it's heavy enough to anchor itself into the rug without relying on spikes?
@waltsreviews902 жыл бұрын
Seems like it would be heavy enough to anchor itself, but there's really only one way to find out! Hope it works for you!

Just heard about this type of floor mat!! Thanks for giving the pros and cons..NEVER considered stubbing my toe on it.. Do you know if the glass has a weight limit?
@waltsreviews902 жыл бұрын
Apparently 1,000 lb limit... But I haven't tested that!! :)

I got them wheels after my master chair wheels collapsed last week but they still sick and rolling a brand new carpet up so can't roll it just now I've noticed when I plant my ass right back in to the seat the wheels roll great so much be a centre of gravity thing with them love the new hight they gave my boulies master chair though now it's perfect it was just on the low side for me with normal wheels but won't pay this for these mats I just won't! I'd rather build something out scrap laminate flooring or something in a longer frame as rolling back from my desk to a double long side desk with 5 3D printers so need that long rollback and noone does Any bigger that 120cm

I got a glass one from a different company for £30, so about $34, with free delivery - just arrived today! :-) The packaging I'm saving to insulate my walls and would have cost a fair bit too. I would say shop around.

@@waltsreviews90 Yesterday, I bought what u recommended. It just arrived this morning at 7am and I just installed it. Sick and tired of those plastic "non breakable" ones that half of their lifetime are cracked up. This is 3 times more but will last a life time and ALWAYS looking good. My chair does not seem to run away. Thanks.

Depends on the company. There are glass mats that are made in the USA. For example, check out the Vitrazza brand.
