What is this incredible communication method? It’s Motivational Interviewing, MI for short. Basically, MI is an evidence-based communication method for behavior change. The great thing is, MI isn’t just for behavior change, parts of it can be used to elicit deeper thought, analysis, problem-solving and reasoning when your teenager is faced with a tough decision to make.
Motivational Interviewing is vey different than most traditional communication methods. It is based on getting your teenager to talk through and explore their reasons for believing something or doing something.

Hi… I appreciate your video…English is my second language and it is a challenge to communicate with my children besides growing up, my parents were almost silent, good providing material things but distant emotionally speaking!… I really want to talk to my teens!… thanks

I just feel like I am to dumb and out of energy to apply any of this. It's obvious that I have a lot to learn about communication with my teens, I just wish it were less difficult to achieve. I will never get all of this and they will see right through it, that's its not me.
