Good rate in Soi Arab with Independent money exchanger! Super Rich exchange booths have a reputation of given the best exchange rates “BUT” what if you are out around the Nana area in Bangkok and you need to change some money up? In this short video I shou you the best rates given at a hidden away change booth just behind Sukhumvit road, Bangkok, Thailand.

An even better rate will be given by Superrich on Silom Rd, on the other side of Lumphini park. It's a walk from Nana, but the rates are the best in Thailand and usually at the interbank rate. In Pattaya, Damini currency exchange on Soi Post Office, offers the best rate by far. I mostly change Euros and Dollars, but their Sterling rates are also the best.

I think you'll find the lady I suggest gives you the same rate you don't need to show her your passport and you don't need to trace over town and you certainly don't need to join long lines

@@ThailandBound I have no qualms about showing my passport - it is after all a legal requirement in Thailand. I would worry if a currency exchanger was not enforcing that rule and check the notes with extra care. No long lines in my experience in Superrich or Damini. I can see that this booth you suggest could compete with Damini, because Pattaya rates are always a tad worse. However, the superrich rates are unbeatable (being interbank rates) and it is hard to conceive of a way that a tiny currency exchange booth could compete with their rates, given the huge variation in daily volume. Another reason to choose Superrich is that they can handle decent amounts. I usually do larger transfers in the 700K baht range from THB to EUR. There is no way a booth will cut it. Same goes for anyone wanting to exchange as little as $10K - the booth simply may not have that much. I would not mind the walking, it would do most people good to walk more. If they did, we have hope of shedding one adjective from the fat, drunk, tattooed foreigner description.

I'm pretty sure that one is open 24 hours also which is the only one I know of in that or any area of Bangkok. Maybe you could check that the next time you're up there ? Cheers 👍

The booth next to Thermae usually does a decent exchange rate. I use it quite often to get a few thousand baht before going into Thermae to buy a cup of coffee! 😉

Hi Mate is that the rate using uk £50.00 notes only or all English notes, as I am out there this April and normally change up at the lower level of the airport which is located close to the metro. So far, it has been best with £50s

The reason I uploaded this video was not to say is the absolute best rate in Thailand it was to say that if you're out and about around Nana late at night she gives the best rate in the area and she's open until late which I stated in the upload

Very shady place indeed. They don’t ask for Passport or any KYC iD too, which is seriously shady and suspicious stuff. A Currency exchange not following the legal Forex rules of compliance is a big No No for me. I wouldn’t be surprised if i find 1 or 2 fake notes stacked in between the real ones if I exchange at shady places like these. No way i’m going to places like these. Superrich for me all the way anytime everytime.

I've been changing that for over 20 years and I've never got a fake banknote from them... think about it she's popular because she gives a very good exchange rate one of the best in fact why would she ruin her business by slipping in a fake banknote it just doesn't make sense because a lot of her customers like me are regulars not tourists.

I never exchange money in Thailand, i use ATM and withdraw 30000 baht each time. I don't want to have large sums with me.

Is 30,000 the maximum on debit / credit card ?

@@jonhobson3592 It depends on the ATM. many only accept 20000 but Krungsri(yellow ATM) accept 30000 baht. Every transaction cost just less than 300 baht, so i maximize my withdrawal.

@@christer.rehnstrom yes good idea. I plan to stay long term but have 3/4 years left on validity. Can also use WU to send monies to my gf account and mine when it’s opened. Also cash pick up I can do too

I usually use superich. There is one at Suvarnabhumi on the bottom floor same as the train. Now I have a Thai Bank account I just send money through wise.

Yeah but the whole point of the video is if you're out in Nana Plaza and it's midnight and you need to change money, super rich isn't really an option especially the airport one

@Thailand Bound There is a superich at Asok bts as well. No I get your point. I just usually don't carry foreign currency around with me. I already have Thai baht with me or I have it with my Thai bank card. You can also use your foreign bankcard but they always give you a terrible rate and charge you 220 baht.If you use wise which is very cheap you can have money in your Thai bak account in seconds. Horses for courses just different ideas and not saying what your saying is wrong at all especially when she does give a good rate and she is open 24hrs.
