Taylors Falls is the Best day trip from Minneapolis.
Taylors Falls is about 50 miles from Minneapolis. There are plenty of things to do in Taylors Falls including one of the most unique state parks, Interstate State Park. It is the first and only state park to reside on two states! It is also unique because there are so many glacial pot holes here. First lava flowed through this area, and then later glaciars formed and melted creating these whirlpools which now there are around 80 potholes one of the highest concentration of them in the world! You also should not miss out on grabbing a burger and freshly made root beer at the Drive-in. And the absolute best way to end the night in my opinion is on the St Croix River on a river cruise. We did a sunset tour and it was beautiful and sunny when we started and about an hour and a half later the sun began to set as we were returning and it was so beautiful, we even saw a bald eagle!
