the funny part is that against the final boss of the game it wouldnt even make any difference how good your deck is, because he has 3 change of heart, 3 relinquished, 3 thousand eyes restrict, 3 monster reborn and so on, it doesnt matter how strong your monsters are, because he will just take them. what i would recommend instead is to use low level dream and light monsters like 3 thousand eyes idol, 3 unhappy maiden, 3 dark eyes illusionist. not only do these have very low deck cost and they are very cheap at the shop, but they also cover basically every elemental weakness that the final boss is using in phase 2. these have a way higher chance at surviving a couple turns than revival jams or la jins do. you just set them and watch him suicide into them, so you have a free monster onboard and get a free turn as well. the revival cards like vampire lord and dd dragon are absolutely horrible against him in my opinion, the only way to use them is to drop everything until you have only one of those left and then use final destiny and pray to god that he doesnt topdeck monster reborn next turn, which he very likely will. so i dont like these, high deck cost and they are horrible. what is good however are traps, but there arent many traps to use, 3 acid trapholes, 2 widespread ruin, 3 trapmaster and 1 torrential is the best you can do and without cheats you will likely have less than that, so use as many as you can. and either way as long as you have phoenix mode in your deck, you can beat the final boss, you just have to get one lucky run where you draw him twice in a row, doesnt matter how bad your deck is, hes basically a 1 card exodia, but even without phoenix mode, you can easily beat the final boss with less than 2000 deck cost if you are smart about it, the game really isnt that hard if you know about elemental weaknesses. here is a good low deck cost skeleton for your deck to beat the final boss with, i would make upgrades only if you can afford it: 1 ra, 1 slipher, 1 obelisk, 3 kuriboh, 1 multiply, 3 final destiny, 1 pot of greed, 3 unhappy maiden, 3 thousand eyes idol, 3 dark eyes illusionist, 3 fiends hand, 3 beckoning, 3 invisible wire, 3 time wizard. these are 32 out of 40 already and im pretty sure this is way below 2000 deck cost as well, i think its 900 or something, duke drops fiends hand, beckoning and invisible wire, these are really quick to farm and everyone should have them anyway at this point, time wizard you get from the mainstory and from joey so you will likely have 3 already as well, same goes for kuriboh and yugi ofc. the final boss in phase 2 uses about 80% shadow monsters which is why you need dream monsters and about 20% fiend monsters which is why you need light monsters, you could also drop the time wizards and use more light instead if you want to. i would fill the rest of the 8 card slots with as many good cards as you can fit, i would prioritize good traps and trapmasters over cloning cards like revival jams and revival cards like vampire lord. if you somehow grinded like a madman and got to duelist level 300+ then obviously swords of revealing light is the best card you can use, but i think you can beat the game at below level 200 so easily that this amount of grinding isnt even remotely worth it. the only expensive card that i think is mandatory to have is pot of greed at 150, but everyone should be at least 150 before the final boss so this is hardly an issue. to better demonstrate why dream monsters like thousand eyes idol are so much better than revival jam and the lamp: lets say you open 3 revival jams, 1 lamp and 1 god, but you dont have phoenix mode ofc, here is how the duel in phase 2 would go down: first turn you summon revival jam, activate effect. his turn, he summons a 2.6k beater and kills one jam, 2nd turn you summon the lamp activate effect to get la jin, his turn he summons another 2k beater, he kills both la jin and your jam, your turn you summon another jam activate effect, his turn he summons a 3rd 2.6 k beater and kills all your monsters, basically this will never ever work, you need traps in combination with jams to summon a god. lets compare that to if you open like this: 3 thousand eyes idol and 1 god, dont even need a 5th card. first turn you set idol, his turn he summons 2.6k beater attacks into it and dies, your turn you summon the 2nd idol, his turn he summons another, dies again, your turn you summon your 3rd idol, his turn he dies again, your turn you get slipher out and win the duel, huge huge difference, this is why weaknesses are so important and why you dont need an insanely expensive deck to beat the final boss.

I finally beat this game! I ended with a duelist level of 369, nice, with a deck capacity of 2500, I was able to cheese my way through the final battle cause I only had like 2650 life points lol I could have used these decks for sure. Grinding for the deck capacity sucks but finally I beat it. I wish I knew there was a code for the Phoenix mode lmao! The amount of times I fought Marik wondering when I would unlock it so I had battle mode lol that would have made it a whole ton easier! I love slifer but I hate effects like his that constantly are activating and explaining themselves mid duel. Opponents usually have 3 Swords of rev light which means you cant attack and its like 10 minutes of you reading slifers effect.

Summoned Skull sounds like a nice option, one sac and 3200 ATK in Yami

Fantastic Deck

Ra Phoenix Mode was so broken that I either refused to use it, or tribute summoned it like an honest upstanding citizen. The discard trick was so easy/overpowered that it wasn't even fun.

I'd really like it if we got a Yugioh game that was similar to the Digimon Hackers Memory for the PSP and Switch. I'd like a remake of Yugioh Flasebound Kingdom as well just to take a brake from playing the card game.

Can you imagine the grind for that! Impossible without hacks. I’m re playing now in 2024 and my duelist level is 170 at neo ghouls takeover. My deck capacity is at 1890 and that has taken around 10 hours of grinding. I can’t imagine how long it would take to get over 10000 deck cap.

Hate to say it but Yugioh Reshef of Destruction isn't fun its got a better story then Yugioh The Falsebound Kingdom for the Gamecube. But Flasebound Kingdom had the funnier gameplay. I hate the fact that Reshef forces you to build a broken deck around the Egyptian gods. Don't get me wrong I like Ra and Slifer in terms of design but again I don't like the fact that your forced to play this game a curtain way in order to win. I'm not a competitive player and it feels like this GBA game was targeting the competitive folks.
