Busting some targets with the tried and true 35 Remington out of my vintage Marlin 336 from 1950. Ruger is close to reintroducing the Marlin 336. Can't Wait ! ! !

Paper ballistics never favored 35 calibers in general, but they don’t tell the whole story of 35’s. I believe if more people actually hunted with a 35 cal, be it 35 Remington, 356 Winchester, 358 Winchester, 35 Whelen, 350 Rem Mag, 358 Norma Mag, (and a few I’m missing) their eyes would be opened up to the absolute ability of them.

I had one heart shot make it between a little over 50 yards but a lot of deer hit in the heart will make a death run... They generally drop at the point of impact being hogs or deer they're usually Dead Right There! And it usually does way less meat damage than a 30-30 yet kills better...

I guessed that it was 35 Remington. This was a very popular cartridge in the woods of the northeast in the 50’s and 60’s.

My 1954 336 in .35 Remington would be the last rifle I'd ever sell. It's my favorite rifle for hunting inside the woods here in WV. Thanks to whomever traded it in to Cabela's years ago. I kept the quality low power scope it had on it, and it hunts perfectly.

My hopes are high! I would love to have a 35 Remington. I had a good friend that had one, and he would not just let go of it.

He'd be crazy to let it go. The best deer gun in the woods.

I agree , mine is from 1962 and harvested many deer with one shot ! But can’t find ammo in Canada for it any more !
