The best way to farm is really just to do this: 1. Decide what kind of a character you want to have. (Pick your favorite two stats and favorite primary and special weapon.) 2. Visit the vendors in the tower (Vanguard, Crucible, the various factions.) and pick out who has the best armor for the kind of character you want to build. 3. Start grinding reputation and marks for the vendor who has the most armor pieces that you want. Do bounties along the way, especially if you're grinding faction reputation, as both Vanguard and Crucible reputation will go toward the faction. (Prioritize PvP though. Factions require crucible marks for their gear.) Don't even worry about grinding for vendor weapons until after you've gotten the armor you want. If you have to grind multiple factions, then as soon as you hit level 2 for one, switch to the other. The weapons can wait until you've gotten the armor you want. That's what's going to raise your level. This is guaranteed to get you the gear you want, rather than just randomized gear that may get you a higher level, but not the character build you want. And you'll go up a few levels in the process anyway. (I started doing this on my level 20 Warlock. He's now level 24, and I haven't even gotten the rep I need to buy the purples yet. I got up to 24 just from crucible matches and Tiger strikes.) And once you have all the gear you want, continue to do bounties. The exp from returning bounties furthers the development of your weapons and armor. If you've ever noticed that you suddenly have upgrades to your gear after you leave the tower, it's because you attained them while turning in Bounties and it didn't notify you until you returned to orbit.

Thanks for sharing! I got the game the day after watching this and am already level 21. I have checked this spot out, but only came across one blue so far. No purples, lots of greens. I also noticed that the mobs get progressively stronger eventually leading to Minotaurs and multiple fallen officers. It was good fun!

I've gotten so many purple engrams but never actually get purple gear gets so annoying.

Moon mission. -> The Dark Beyond. -> Dead Guardian. -> Kill Thralls. -> Rinse. -> Repeat. Better.

There's a similar location in the Earth Cosmodrome area where Fallen and Hive are fighting an ongoing battle Most of the time it's a low intensity battle, but there are a couple of events in the area, one of which causes the enemies to be very difficult, spawn in larger waves and drop enhanced loot. Haven't found a location like this on the Moon.

Did two runs at around 30 to 40 mins each. Picked up about 9 uncommon drops and 7 rare drops. Went from level 20 to level 22. Think its been nerffed at the end of both runs the normal mob spawns stop (if there are any alive they even disappear) and the Vex and the Fallen have an all out war. You become the target of both factions eventually. Thats when you know its time to leave.

I stoped coming here for gaming relevant content after ESO fuckup. Now i come here for comedy and i get it almost every time. I did get my "laugh fix" after he's having fun running in circles on the same place killing mobs on scripted spawn time. Keep on the good show! Looking foward to it.

Just to let you know if you sit on the staircase in between each spawn, both will continously spawn the whole time, and you don't have to move at all.

Not really a jibe at Destiny, but i'm one of those guys who highly despise the farming-"expirience" from MMOs. And when it's so ingrained into your Head that you know at what moment which mob will spawn from what direction it's getting ridicolous. How is that fun? You're just doing chores at that point.

Before I even start the video, I'm going to guess it's that plaza on Venus where the Fallen are fighting the Vex. It's one of the places in the game where there can be a massive war between the AI's. The other one I know of is on Earth near the radar dish raising mission area. EDIT: I knew it lol I farm the one on Earth all the time.

I'm a little confused, you said on Diablo 3 that you didn't play for the gear (that you play "the wrong way"), why is it so different in Destiny? It seems even more boring than d3 but i might be wrong, if someone can explain ?

Already dropped 4 legendary engrams up until now, not a single one of them actually contained a legendary. Did get 2 legendaries from random blue engrams, though.

I have a similar strategy on mars but with 2 groups. Vex and Cabal. I wipe out the 4 Cabal guys, then turn around and wipe out the 6 vex Goblins and 1 Minotaur. I get tons of engrams and glimmer. Area is pretty good too cause if a group doesn't spawn, I farm some close chests. Also a public event shows up really close that's pretty challenging so I love hitting that up. And sometime Vex Vs Cabal. It totally sucks though if any guardians show up, They totally kill the spawn flow so at that point I just leave and do a mission and give up on the spot but its usually good for awhile..

Or, you can just find some people to do the Vault of Glass on hard, do it on normal, then hard, and you will get some pretty awesome stuff. Or you can do the crucible, and get some pretty awesome gear too.

I did this yesterday without the vid and got heaps and heaps of greens AND got myself up to lvl 15 :D

you do realise once you are level 25 you can do the nightfall strike (its level 28) so get higher level gear (buy it with vanguard marks) then have a blast

he forgot to mention after awhile at this location stupid tough enemies come out and it's like you're fighting 5 different bosses. seriously at level 25 i was sweating bullets on some parts.

ive done this last week on mars go to where the vex and the cabal i dont remember where it is location wise but i know it was in a valley off to the left but i sat there and killed both sides of the battle after about 5 to ten minutes the units that spawned began to get more powerful and higher ranked unites started to spawn on both sides from goblins to minotars and i had fleet commanders and legionnaires spawning the amount of engrams was one every minute of so if one or more people do this the level of loot would jump up as well it ws to hard to keep killing them all without running out of ammo then having to go into the fray to get more ammo

I litterally went out in destiny to hunt a farming area and when I found this farming spot this morning I thought I finally found something I could keep to my self. Until 6 hours later I find this video. Facepalm😩

I'm fairly new to the game, and still getting me head around the looting system (hence why I'm here) if the loot depends on your level rather then the mob's level as it were... what's the actual point in doing anything in hard mode? So far I ran everything I could the hardest difficulty I can possible manage hoping that it'd (obviously...) reward me with better gear.. This is pickling me brains haha

Even in an FPS MMO, people are still doing boring farming for efficient loot instead of whats fun... /sigh.

It's more or less exploiting bad level designs where enemy spawn locations are now used to grind for gear. How is that any kind of achievement though? I'd consider it quite lame really.

that dark area with shit loads of vex in never ending hoards is best farming location i've ever seen...trust me go there to collect so many engrams u will go insane with joy...found it while on a random mission...i played fro like just 15 minutes and got 7 engrams...after awhile i had so many...wow best spot check it out..its in some dark underground area on mars..ull bump into vex.fallen,cabal....damn near all species of enemies...maybe i should upload a video fo it....its best farming location ever dicovered....EVER

Farming so rapidly after release... never a good sign for a new game. The 6/10 from Gamespot sounds about right.

This works great. also while doing this some people joined and there was constant mob spawning in one of the rooms. dont know how to repeat this but it was great.

Okay, holy shit, I just did this for around a half an hour, and after about a half an hour of farming (Got about 5 blue drops and 15+ greens) my game started BUGGING THE FUCK OUT. It said (where it normally says someone has entered the zone) that the factions were going to start attacking one another, and for some reason their levels increased from 11 to 12 and it started spawning TONS of armored and champion units and they started fighting each other, all while this was happening my side of this was freaking out, when I would throw my grenade nothing would come out, When I used my Arc Blade super instead of going into third person and cutting bitches like usual, it would just toss me back into first person and I couldnt shoot, with no added melee damage, and ON TOP OF THAT when I went to my character equip screen I could only see a zoomed in view of his fucking feet at the top of the screen. I have no idea what caused that, but it was REALLY weird...

just do the strike related to this location a lot quicker way to get there

For all the people who doesn't like destiny players that farm why look up this vid if all your going to do is despite everyone who farms why even look this up if your not going to do it what do you people do all day search up stuff you dont like and tell people there wasting there time doing what ever might I remind you destiny is a looting game so go ahead and waste all your time playing the game right to get descent weapons and armor not every one has that sort of time

Guys......Like chill out. Think of it like this. In a NORMAL MMORPG (linage or something like wow) Godly players dont just get items to be as op, They have to actually work for that stuff. So imo players that dont grind dont deserve shyt, And I know the drop system is crap in the game but cmon, Its completely random and some people are lucky. Just my opinion.

I reached lvl 20 in 2 days playing nonstop

I can't even play my Destiny yet. I've created a character a gotten past the first few zones, but the lag is disgusting. I can't push myself to play that game until the lag has disappeared because I was having trouble with extremely easy enemies due to not being able to aim properly.

Half hour of farming got you all that? Yeah, they already must have greatly reduced the drop rate because I farmed this for a little over 2 hours and only got a single gear piece with light on it.
