Hey Jeremy, followed your advice for my DI, 2D, and even SI. Still got some work to do on the DI and 2D but I'm way better off than before. My SI is super crisp now, even without Mega. Thanks!

As others have said, this is exactly the information I was searching for! Simple settings to get started. This unit is also perfect for ice fishing! Of course you do need the ice transducer.

I really appreciate you showing HOW to get to the screens that need fine tuning the settings. I save your videos. I have a Helix 7 SI G3. Never had a fish Finder before and will be fishing Weiss Lake next week and wanting the best settings. Thanks for the help and any advice. 🐟

Hey, your channel is great. I have a g4 mega SI/DI, and today when I went out it was stuck on Mega 360. I don't have a 360 transducer. Would like to get my Side and down imaging back. Have had it for about a year.

Great videos! I have a question, I have a gen4 with the latest update 2.66. On 2d the depths average 800 ft. On Autochart the recording is color is solid blue or black. I done plenty of restore defaults and nothing changes. Where I fish is only about 100 ft at the deepest area. What am I doing wrong?

Doing nothing wrong the unit just comes stock on a short depth range for colors. When you are in your full screen gps hit the menu button once. Scroll down auto chart option amd then adjust the range to your likings and 1 foot contours. I have a video that I ho over this. I will get you a link

I have a helix 7 MSI G3N if I get a helix 9 MDI G4N and link them together will I be able to use MSI on my Helix 9 MDI through my Helix 7 MSI G3N?

Yes sir absolutely. Even if you got a helix 9 sonar/gps you could get the si from the helix 7 msi unit

Jeremy, I have the helix 10 MSI GPS g3n. Purchased it a couple years ago and never updated it. Today I updated all the way to 2.66 I had to first update to another version then update the maps. Then update to 2.66. Everything went well. Now what I noticed is I do not have the DI or SI Enhanced menu now. I am in custom mode. So did they remove this menu option?

They must have in the newest update. This is the second time I've heard this in the past week. I really hope that they just messed this update up or else I will not be updating my newer units. I really like that feature. There is a way to go back to the older updates if something isn't fixed soon

@@HumminbirdHelp I read the update changes and they said this. *Fixed an issue with the DI, SI, and 360 Enhance menus. These menus were removed and the features were placed on to the X-Press menu.* But I do not see it there. Also not sure what's up with the cross hair. If you have anything other than zero on the upper level. You can't scroll it down to the bottom in 2x. It never reaches there. If it's on zero. It works fine. You can move it anywhere and see a target. And if you put it over the target and hit +. It's not on target. It's up in the water column.

@@HumminbirdHelp I'm one of them lol. We all know you have to constantly adjust for the water your in. And this menu was a fast easy access to make the adjustments we need to get the best image. If you got to go through a bunch of crap in a another menu. That will cause people some frustration when trying to tweak it. If I had a older unit that I didn't bother tinkering with. I would work on this myth about not being able to down grade firmware. If it works anything like on a PC. My theory is put the ld firmware on the SD card. Name it to a newer version so it will trick the unit to install it. Then it will be an older firmware. Or if there is a full factory reset that would revert it back to original firmware it came with when you purchased it. That would work also. I have down graded trail cameras, phones etc using the renaming method to downgrade. But im not will to test it out on this unit. If I find a older one cheap enough that it wouldn't bother me to brick it. I would try this out.

@@Labyrnthdom I here you there. That would be an expensive mistake. I'm not to certain if there os a reset to get it back to factory firmware but it would be a good thing to know

Yes just bump the sensitivity up till u see it

Try putting your water on salt shallow...it will clear up the screen ALOT more...

What frequency do you run for DI?

Really depends how deep of water I'm running in! I ussually a spectrum from 1150-1275mhz but in deep water if I'm looking for fish just off bottom I run at 800khz

Yeah the down imaging and side imaging settings and options are almost the same

I fish stan and sometimes muddy water with a soft bottom so should I turn the sensitivity down ?

Sand sensitivity down contrast up and silt and muck bottom sensitivity up and contrast down

You know why my helix 7 g4n’s MSI gps don’t have that “enhance” feature and they are the newest version. Did the 2.8 update get rid of that little extra click? My menu quick pop up doesn’t show the enhance but only sensitivity and contrast I also keep sharpness on low but the dynamic contrast seems to be over powering. Does the clear water or murky water setting have anything to do with it? Especially like smartstrike searches? Probably be any weedy bass lake right?
