Purina pro plan meets WSAVA (World small veterinary association) guidelines unlike a lot of other brands so I’ll stick with pro plan. Specifically their sensitive skin and stomach line cleared up my dogs allergies entirely.

Pure Balance is the best dog food at Walmart for sure. Choose a grain inclusive formula like chicken and brown rice. Pure balance wet food is also a good bowl topper.

I adopted our first dog in 1987. We have had 6 more dogs since then. All but 2 lived to be 15 years old, 1 lived to 16 and 1 lived to be 17. All but 1 were heelers and 1 lab mix. Fed them nothing but Pedigree. Never had any problems.

The reality is, people criticize cheaper brands because they are inexpensive and not of high quality. However, most people, especially Americans, do not thoroughly examine every ingredient in their food but still maintain good health. While it is important to provide your dog with nutritious food and monitor their diet, there is no need to spend $60 on a 20-pound bag just because a video suggests it. I personally feed my dog Purina Dog Chow along with a gut topper and salmon oil from the Native Pet brand, and he is a healthy 70-pound dog. The key is to choose the food that is best for your dog and fits within your budget, while also keeping a close eye on their well-being.

Look out for the fruits and Capitan of peas in there for protein they have done a study recently out of UC Davis that found that that led to some serious health issues down the road with heart and liver function. It's a cheap filler and I'm seeing a lot of food manufacturers for dogs using this as the primary ingredient now!

I have given pure balance to my German Shepherd, he digested better that dog food, his hair looks shinier as well, is a bit expensive but I believe it’s worth it.
