Hello friends. Foundation or tinted moisturizer? Which do you prefer in the summer? Which ones are best for mature skin? And, which one's are best for the price? Tools! They have so many and are used for diff reasons. Makeup is same. Our skin is changing and sometimes works better w others.

Great tip on mixing oil with the fresh wear. I have drier skin and like that foundation but it was kinda matte and drying.

I am in the minority, but although L’Oréal has a number of light to dark shades, I consider them to NOT be inclusive.... no pinks! They are all yellow. I know us pink girls are the least common, I wish L’Oréal would throw a couple of shades for us in their lineup. 😩😩😩

Hi Jodi...thanks for your review. Personally, I always prefer a tinted moisturizer over a medium or full coverage foundation. Looks a lot more natural on me and it's a lot more comfortable on my skin. If I wear a foundation, I prefer the more soft natural and/or dewy ones. Have a great week 🤗

@@JodiMannes I love the Wet n Wild tinted hydrator. Also, love the Urban Decay hydromaniac tinted glow I got during the Ulta sale. When I wear foundation, I like the L'Oréal Age perfect radiant serum foundation. The true match Hyaluronic Tinted Serum by L'Oréal wears beautiful on me but for a few hours only before my skin feels dry. Thanks Jodi!

Double Wear is fantastic. if you want a thinner application mix a little serum with it on the back of your hand before applying.

The analogy I use for my husband when he asks about my foundations or skincare products is fishing poles. Why does he need more than 1 or 2 fishing poles when they all can catch a fish.

My preference is Tinted moisturizer .. I don’t like the look of heavy makeup as well as high maintenance.

Jodi, I was reading below the video. I did not know that about the commercials. Funny thing is, I was going to ask you about it. I had read a comment somewhere on another channel about ads. It came to my mind when I clicked on your video. I will watch them and support your channel unless there are the ten or fifteen infomercials. I can’t deal with that. Anyway, I use the L’Oreal Infallible sometimes. I wanted to ask you about primer. I know this is not about primer but..I purchased Laura Mercier pure silk canvas and used it Sunday morning. Needless to say, I washed most of my makeup off as I was driving to church! Please share your favorite. I need your help. Love your videos. You’re beautiful, honest and REAL. Much love!❤️🌹

Hi Lisa, thank you for your support and no worries on the commercials, I get it! haha. I'm so sorry you had that experience with the primer, thank goodness for mirrors and good lighting before church :) I prefer the Tacha Silk Canvas. I have combo skin, sightly leaning toward dry. It's a little on the pricy side, but a little, like the size of a piece of rice, goes a long way.

For SURE a tinted moisturizer..although anymore no mater the time of year, as a mature woman closing in on my 50s lol, I prefer lighter weight and coverage foundations/complexion products..I feel they make me look better

I am wondering what the difference is between a tinted moisturizer and a tinted BB and CC cream? I tried a tinted BB cream a few years back and it dried out my skin terrible so I gave up on them. To be honest I’m not sure which would be better a light foundation or a tinted moisturizer or a CC or BB cream? I want something I can not feel on my skin, looks very light and one thou can not feel, any recommendations, my skin tends to run on the dry side, any suggestions??? Im looking for a clean everyday look, nothing glam for daily wear and cruelty free is a must

Hi Diane, let me see if I can help. BB Creams are Beauty Balms and are more hydrating than CC Creams (Color Corrector). CC creams offer a lighter coverage, although both BB Creams and CC Creams are more lightweight than foundation and most are similar coverage and consistency to tinted moisturizer. You might want to give ILIA's Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 a try. It's a clean, cruelty free formula (the whole ILIA brand is as well). It contains hyaluronic acid to moisturize the skin and niacinamide to help lock in the moisture. It comes in 32 shades and is lightweight and buildable. I tested it months ago and was impressed. @@JodiMannes i bought it once from Ulta and returned I thought it made me look " unalive" saw a deal at Estee lauder which included many extras so decided to try again picked a different shade, i am an easy but hard shade match because I can go all the ways but while all match some dull me, this shade is much better and I like it prefer Mac ( except the dang smell) and Maybelline fit me seems to be the bestest for 7$, I know everyone loves the L'Oréal true hyaluronic, i may have to give that a different shade try, Looks beautiful on you !!for sure. I just splurged on the tom Ford tried a sample loved it, got compliments on my makeup from my son's and my sister so..even though I hate an making expensive purchase on a one day wear, gift cards made me do it 🤭 i also have a Fenty clearance foundation on the way, I do truly love trying foundations.

This was such a fun video to put together because I had the opportunity to try 16 different foundations. Many are good, but these were better than good! One is a tinted moisturizer, the rest are foundations. Which do you prefer?

I usually wear full foundation, but during the hot, humid summer months I like a tinted moisturizer. Any help you can give in finding a good tinted moisturizer would be appreciated!

I actually had an idea of what i would say about why I need several different foundations....if your husband should ask again. I personally need a couple for winter that are lighter. One has to be longwearing and oilfree for work on either a snowy or rainy day (I use Lancome teint idole). If it is a dry, warming day, I can use something different like a tinted moisturizer, bb cream or cc cream,still in a light colour or a foundation that is not necessarily oil-free. In the spring and fall I need the same variety except a little darker in case I self tan or catch some rays. In the summer I need an even darker color of either my teint idole, if I want a more made up look or an oil-free moisturizer or bb or cc cream (depending on weather and temperature). Have your husband read this and if he is totally confused, than I have done my job well 😅!

Hi Jodi love your hair up ! I wear regular foundation mixed with my moisturizer la Roche possay . I’ve never tried a tinted moisturizer right now I’m using it cosmetics your skin but better and I really like it . I have the nyx drops and it’s really nice light I haven’t tried to many drugstore foundations . I’m trying to think what I would respond to my honey if he asked why I have so much of any product . The truth is I hide my stuff😃 I’m going to try the L’Oréal true match nude . Hope you have a beautiful week my friend 🥰

The reason we need so many foundations is because our skin is always changing (aging) and therefore, we are always looking for the one that will make our skin look "better" than it really is and also doesn't cost a fortune. Also, when the seasons change, so does the color and texture of our skin. Think he'll buy that ? ;)

SOCKET WRENCHES! I've trained horses for many years,& had so much equipment(bits,bridles,etc)I used this analogy for my father,who's a true "man's man",the guy everyone always called for help,no matter what the problem. I said everything you use,no matter what the application is,is a tool to achieve the goal. You choose whichever specific tool in whichever sizes necessary to break down or build & you may need 10 different sizes for one lawnmower...

Ha. My husband wonders why I have 8 pairs of black pants. But, women know. They’re cut differently, they’re different fabrics. They’re office, casual, dressy. Meanwhile, my husband has at least 50 t-shirts. Who needs 50 t-shirts, especially ones that are falling apart?
