9:44 also, no not the whole thing. It’s mostly his dislike of “Mumble Rap”. While MGK isn’t one, tbh, Em stuck that title on him more from his dislike of MGK. These lines sort of address the mumble rap community because it’s about how he basically lyrically kills all of them (and the throat being the place one makes sounds and all? Well, what makes Em great is not just his ability to rap, rap fast, rap lyrically…it’s all of that but ALSO the crisp, perfect pronunciation of words. He can be going as fast as he does in Godzilla’s fastest verse (10.2 syllables per second. Rap God’s fastest was a bit over 9 syllables per second) and the words are clear. Now, remembering the last few words may be hard but they’re not slurring, or done lazily. You need incredible tone in all our facial and…neck muscles to have this ability. Sooo…this whole OJ scheme? Throats getting…hurt, let’s say. Slight nod there.

I recommend watching any reactor that does bar breakdowns (think Knox Hill, Cliff Beats, etc) they will give you the full run down. 7:15 it basically starts in 2011? MGK posted on Twitter about how Em’s daughter was hot (note…he was 21 and she was 16.) One thing most people know is to NEVER mess with her. First, just never say that sort of thing when you are 21 and she’s 16. Second, him being a fan of Em’s….he SHOULD have known not to do it. He added something about saying with respect l I don’t think it helped, I think it had the opposite effect. Em didn’t even find out for a good bit (years) and when he did, his team asked MGK to make a public apology (for him but also more for Hailies sake) something he didn’t take to all that well. He didn’t do it, I believe. Well, Em then went and banned him and his music from playing on his radio station (Shade 45 I believe.) it’s his own private business and he had every right after that. Note, he had been on the station before, his music got played etc. it was after he didn’t do as was asked that this happened. Some where in between that and the next bit MGK has a feat with Tech N9ne He subliminally dissed Em enough to have him respond in this manner (Em does NOT sub. He WILL state your name if he’s coming for you. Here he’s just responding to MGK, though. Now, obviously Em isn’t gonna deal well with him not apologising (Ja Rule and Benzino both went and said crap about her. Their careers …well, never the same again…hence the reference in Killshot about being buried next to Ja and Benzino. Here he says “ja memories jarred” vs “your/ya/yo’ memories…” it’s on purpose (he rarely does anything UNINTENTIONALLY. He’s letting MGK know “remember what happened to Ja Rule??”) The rest has more to do with Rap Devil by MGK and Killshot. So, eventually, after this song is released MGK pops his champagne and thinks it’s clever to go diss him. And honestly? Of all the disses Em has gotten? It wasn’t CRAP! And Em was conflicted over responding at all (he’d only bring more light to MGK. He had more to lose or rather nothing to gain; no clout, nothing.) In Rap Devil, MGK goes at Em saying he blackballed him, is rich but always angry, that he Stans himself, that it was just a pic (it was the comment, dude…and the age gap!) …says Em has leverage Interscope which is the label that both Aftermath and Shady records belong to but ALSO Bad Boy, which is where MGK was/is signed to (again, in Killshot Em talks about Diddy giving the ok, mentions how MGKs boss pops pills etc.. he also references the blackball accusation saying “one call to interscope and you Swayze” (ie if he HAD called to blackball him he wouldn’t be AT his label anymore. He didn’t do anything. He does admit the Shade 45 accusation saying “you’ll have to lick a ….to get on my channel” etc. You can sort of see the order of things because Em mentions how after MGK dissed him, it validated him writing all this about him in this song which came out before Killshot. Oh…MGK went and also went for Kim (only Em can diss Kim), used way too many old jokes, claimed he (MGK) was still street and he was being kept from earning by em and made it seem like he was pleading one dad to another (very manipulative…and false! He surely was more than comfortable with at least 1 or 2 million.) he makes fun of how Em dresses…but the guy made the worst mistake by referring to him as the GOAT, a top rapper. Diss rule #1 just effin’ DISS. Do NOT compliment!! Anyhow. That’s a very short, not well summarised list of events. I likely got some stuff a bit off. As mentioned before, I recommend Knox or Cliff’s dissection of BOTH Rap Devil and Killshot (they both did long videos analysing both songs back to back.)
