They’re all great 👍🏻 especially Beyonce and jessie j but TORI KELLY is the most AGILE sorry. TK’s riffs are so neat and most natural. She doesn’t need that excessive jaw movements just to produce a riff. She’s exceptional end of story 😍

The difference between many of these and Mariah's is that she has a ridiculous skill in blending her melisma with the timbre AND melody of the song with her tone. So many other artists (even some of the best riffers) work against the melody and it can sound metallic in tone, but Mariah effortlessly blends into the song. She's a once-in-a-lifetime type of artist.

Because they’re only agile in one register. They strain in the other registers when they have to do runs. And some agile singers lack dynamic and that nice placement. I am a fan of Demi. But she is no longer that agile as compared to her peers. More powerful maybe. But not more agile. Beyonce has some of the best dynamics when doing riffs and runs and melismas. Tori Kelly has maybe the most intricate and creative runs. Avery Wilson only descends and ascends. Not very creative. But he is agile. Wish he could use some transitions and dynamics into play. He’d be unstoppable. Jojo has by far the best placement when it comes to riffs. Perioddt. But I have no idea who is the fastest runner. They’re all equally agile.

I fine most singers sound gimmicky with there use of runs and riffs. They do it to sound impressive rather then to give the music flavour or to better convey emotion. Honestly tori Kelly uses runs and riffs better then most songs out there. She needs more recognition.
