I had a janitorial service and a restaurant back in the 70s and 80s. The only soap/cleaner I used to mop floors with was plain ol' Tide and hot water. Absolutely the best for mopping up grease and dirt! 🎯

I see this a lot in American households where people walk around inside their home with their shoes on. The same shoes that were outside. I think it's unsanitary. It's best to wear clean inside foot wear, such as slip ons.
@trixieracer838
@trixieracer838 2 жыл бұрын
Not all Americans. Some take their shoes off, some don’t. Please don’t assume we are all the same. And to call it unsanitary is going a bit far. I don’t know of any business, in any country, that requires everyone to take off their shoes when they walk into their establishment. Would you call ALL businesses unsanitary? People walk into clothing stores, grocery stores, restaurants, doctors offices, etc. etc. routinely without removing their shoes and I wouldn’t call those retailers “unsanitary”. As long as my floors in my home are getting swept and mopped on a weekly basis, anyone can walk around with their shoes on without a worry.

There are many customs that make each country unique!! When we operated a calving operation in Wyoming- the hired hands had to take their shoes off at the front mud room. Now those work days are gone and I moved closer to family- in California. We continue to take our shoes off to keep the floors clean… but there are some that don’t like to do that and that’s okay…. I don’t think it’s that unsanitary- but I can see how someone might believe different. Thank you for sharing!!!❤️

In Germany we have entry halls we leave our shoes on the shoe stand & put on our slippers. The only time we wear shoes is when company is coming. Then of course the house sparkles when they arrive & we clean when everyone leaves. Mutti always said never go to bed with a dirty dish in the sink.

@@trixieracer838 Please stop and take a moment to read my post. Nowhere did I mention that I assumed all Americans do this. This post is meant for the specific ones that DO. There's a large distinction between business and households depending on the layout. I'm okay with walking to a business and/or sitting down on a chair but I'm not okay walking barefoot to a business nor house even when I know it's been cleaned weekly...I think it's personally unsanitary. It invites dirt and debris. I'm not a dictator about it... it's no biggie if you have to quickly go on with shoes because you forgot something. I appreciate your thoughts!

Your statement is rude in my opinion. I would not talk about you and the ways Of your country in this manner. It is disrespectful. All that are trying to defend our ways to this person , please don’t, you don’t have too. The ones that are lucky enough to live here know you are not in any way dirty or unsanitary because you wear your shoes inside. It is my opinion that this person is just being hateful , ignore.

Tide (laundry soap in general) actually suspends, and holds dirt, for a brief period of time. That is why, you never want to soak dirty clothes, once you add detergent, and you do not see a wash cycle, more than 16-18 minutes . If you let clothes or floors sit and soak with detergent on them, the dirt will be released from the soap and adhere, back to floor or clothes. We own an appliance repair company, and I thought, I knew how to clean until I married my husband lol. The techs actually receive training on this kind of stuff, to properly instruct customers, on how to best use their machines.

Then I hit the toughest spots in the grout with my magic eraser. I did rinse because my used Tide water was like mud. I would worry about using this method on Luxury Vinyl Plank. I found out the hard way to ONLY use warm water and white vinegar on them. When you use any kind of cleaning product, it gets ingrained into the LVP, and when you mop, you're basically just spreading the dirt around. My feet were turning black despite me mopping all the time. I had a professional cleaning lady come in and even she couldn't get my floors clean. I ended up tasking my very strong step-son to use a sturdy brush and clean them that way. I called the installers and was told that you can't use any type of cleaning product. Just good old warm water and vinegar.
