Most paid cad software is either free or greatly reduced for students. So take advantage while you can.

I have fusion 360. One can get a free version if you say you're using it as a hobby. Just a few less features,whoop!

I wish they made switching from education license to hobby easier. When my education license ended I tried to switch but it only offered paid plans so had to make a new account to get the hobby one

While some of these tools are amazing and very advanced. My favorite CAD is solvespace. Yes, there are some limitations, but it just meshes with me well.

Didnt know Solid Edge is free! Since solidworks isnt. Great Video!. What do you think about autodesk inventor? I believe its very similar to fusion 360

Catia is very capable particularly for surface modelling. Great for aerospace and automotive design with complex surfaces.

who tf uses solid edge. Onshape is by far the best (def not biased). But actually tho Onshape and Fusion are the top 2 by a mile.
