Sig made an affordable Aimpoint clone long story short and the build quality is identical. I’m working on a Remington 700 SPS chambered in 308 for quick target acquisition. The Rome 7 will be the optic of choice until I can get my hands on a Trijicon.

Holosun does make most of the red dots for several companies, but not the entire line. They do go to great lengths to hide this info due to the variation in price. You are paying more for the name/warranty for some of these optics.

Nice thing about these optics, is they're compatible with aimpoint comp m4 mounts and accessories. Get a Bobro mount and a midwest industries cantilever extension and you have yourself a badass little set up for a little over $400.
@gunplaytv Жыл бұрын
Precisely. Mounts are often overlooked but in my mind your optic is only as good as it's mount. All my Sig and Holosun optics are on aimpoint mounts and they've been flawless.

@gunplaytv Жыл бұрын
30mm Def makes a difference. The eyepiece feels much more open and less constricted. That being said, it also weighs a good amount more which can't be overlooked

im getting one asap if i could find one where its not sold out or overpriced. I've found 1 or 2 places that have em but they're going for $400 and up....i figured the price should go down after being on the market for a while and new versions coming out
@gunplaytv3 жыл бұрын
Man the game has been crazy lately. Not sure if it's a raw material shortage causing scarcity, or if people are legitimately buying everything up, but I'm noticing many optics selling out, going on back order, or having the price jacked up. I just ordered a Trijicon RMR (unboxing coming soon) and had to jump as soon as I saw it. Other places wanted $500-700. Managed to find one of the few sub-500 dollar examples. If you see it, I'd snag it.

I want this but with the Juliet it just seems like a lot on top. Feel like the Romeo 5 goes better with the Juliet
@gunplaytv3 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I was facing the same dilemma. With the juliet it's just too much weight, but a Romeo5 XDR pairs perfectly IMO
@tyronejackson65932 жыл бұрын
I have to respectfully disagree. This optic is basically a clone of the Aimpoint CompM4s and the CompM4 has a long service history. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not saying this is as tough as an Aimpoint (but it is tough as heck just check out Beyond Seclusion’s video of it being dropped, submerged and frozen). However the Aimpoint does weigh more (14.5 vs 12.5 according to the websites). Also, the newest Army SF optic is a Sig LPVO that weighs 22.1 ounces. Now not everyone knows this but the SF guys down range have taken to running the offset red dot rather then a single optic or buis. So imagine 22.1 plus mount plus a red dot on offset. On top of an M4. This optic with a Juliet 3 weighs a combined 25. With the Juliet 3 Micro it comes down to 22.4. Just .3 ounces heavier then a bare Tango6T. I guess what I’m getting at is in the civ world we are all about light weight but that comes at a price and we like to complain about things not being “duty grade”. Well the guys actually using their weapons for duty are carrying some pretty heavy shit and guess what they make it work. If you are so concerned about weight that you are willing to choose an inferior optic (in terms of durability) then you should probably hit the gym.

Sig Sauer red dots are made in China or assembled in the US with foreign parts. The Romeo 5 is manufactured from a Chinese Holosun factory with a Sig Sauer logo labeled on it. Both the Romeo7 and the Romeo7s are also MADE IN CHINA!

@gunplaytv3 жыл бұрын
I'd have to say 7. More robust, and a larger viewing window + ability to add a killflash. However, it's heavy. So the 5 wins if weight is a concern.

@@gunplaytv and size if rail real estate is a concern.....for 200$ on optics planet right now I could get the Romeo7 or a Romeo 5HDX, the 5 being 2.25 inches shorter. With my irons mounted straight up space gets tight on my rail.....I was looking at the 7s but I'm seeing more and more complaints about the quality of the dot, ie it blooms too much or halo's even at lower settings for the environment your in.
