In addition a tip on top of your thoughtful content, The reason why Godzilla's behavior is unnatural. (In the first place, Godzilla's existence exceeds the rules of physics and biology. That's why people are afraid of Godzilla.) Godzilla is TATARIGAMI as mention Takashi Yamazaki in a interview, TATARIGAMI is a spirit (high-dimensional being) that continued to be feared even after it died a violent death as a human. There is also a theory that he is the incarnation of a heroic spirit who died during WW2. (TATARIGAMI is also depicted in Ghibli's Princess Mononoke. The black stain is common in both films.) Although TATARIGAMI is a wild spirit and is feared and shunned, if it is carefully enshrined, it can become a powerful guardian deity. They are the gods that are worshiped. How would you describe the existence between God and living things as follows? The director and CG artists spent more than six months developing Godzilla's walking style.

Thank you for your comment Okazaki! Thats wild and we had no clue the extent they spent on the CGI! Thats a very interesting fact about TATARIGAMI and absolutely makes sense, especially when in the earlier movies he tends to move from a destroyer to a protector. Ultimately depending on the film hes in. I would say your correlation between the two and with what Mr. Yamazaki said that it would make a lot of sense in regards to how he is portrayed and viewed not only in this movie, but in his many incarnations!

Thanks for the review. I just saw it a second time, and I can't believe I'm thinking about a Godzilla movie so much. I thought I would see some flaws the second time around, but it was equally impactful and things actually made more sense. In the right hands, Godzilla can continue to be relevant for another 70 years.

Thanks for the comment! We can’t wait to watch it again! We really hope this will get a physical release, because we’d love the chance to be able to own it and watch it in a home theater. It’s also getting a black and white re-release in Japan which would be incredible to watch!

@@FromScreenToShelf I'm in Japan, so I'm going to try to see the BW version in January. They actually showed the trailer for that at the end of Minus One.

@@AllenAllanAlan it looks phenomenal! Not sure if we’ll get the B&W release here at some point. Might need to vacation to Japan in January 😂

I don’t think regular dinosaur size Godzilla had the ability to regenerate because he hadn’t been affected by the radiation yet, so I’m not sure your nitpick is valid. I loved your discussion though. I just got back from seeing it a second time. Enjoyed it very much again.

This movie is a masterpiece. For the sequel, it will be very interesting, because no monster would be able to withstand Godzilla's atomic blast. He is THAT powerful. And he gives no f@#ks. So the sequel should probably show some formidable monster who quickly gets vaporized the moment it steps into Godzilla's turf. Would be a power statement on how Alpha Godzilla really is. Just take my money (again), Toho!

I’m gonna play devil’s advocate and theorize what it would be like if they went the opposite direction and made the enemy monster just as, if not more formidable than Godzilla. I think this film is near perfect as a standalone feature, so it will be interesting to see how they incorporate another Kaiju in a sequel, if they choose to go that route. But agree 100% that atomic breathe is devastating and IMO the best we’ve seen so far. Thanks so much for the comment!
