MechaG had the energy the same as the Godzilla remains founded on Kingdom Kong. You know, the one that directly absorbs the radiation from the earth's core. In a way, they are at the same level but it seems MechaG laser breath is more concentrated and can be overclocked mid breath.

MechaGodzilla was stronger because he got that energy source to fuel him and the skills of ghidorah/ Kevin who was able to concentrate his lighting breath. Meaning that he was stronger, and don’t forget the missiles, thrusters, power punches, etc they gave him.

Mechagodzilla was super OP in this movie, the way it should be. That way Godzilla has to team up with Kong to defeat it etc. I still think the way they were able to introduce Mechagodzilla into this franchise and make it work (and not be super cheesy) as good as it does is amazing. I hope that means, if there are more movies in the monsterverse - we get Destroyah etc down the line. Heh, or Mechaghidora.

I noticed that in the final battle, MechaG used his jetpack/rocket boosters, grab Godzilla's tail and yeet the g man, just like how kiryu yeeted Godzilla using his jetpack(2002)

I felt that mehagodzilla was taken over by gidora, remember that he regrew a head so it’s possible that even as a skull he’s not really dead. Also explains why Godzilla was so pissd off the whole movie

That was exactly why big-G was freaking out. He sensed Ghidorah's presence and that core was emitting some kind of bio-acoustic possibly replicating Ghidorah, or just emitting a sound that triggered Godzilla's aggression.

Mechagodzilla getting possessed by a dead Kaiju might be a reference to 2002's Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, where it was built around the skeletal remains of the original Godzilla from 1954 and getting possessed later on in the movie after repelling Godzilla from the city.

The other throwback with ghidorahs skull being in mechagodzilla, throws back to Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla as that mechagodzilla, Kiryu was built with the original godzillas bones.

@@Subby1807 A GOOD 90’S ANIME ON NETFLIX. It is pretty good- lots of teenage depression + insane elements of science fiction + and biblical symbolism. There’s also a film that concludes the show- it is called End of Evangelion. So if your into giant monster fights and what not, you’ll like it. It’s a cult classic in the anime community 🙌

@@Subby1807 There are roughly 26 episodes and each are like- 20 minutes. It starts a bit slow but then the plot begins to really thicken. The film that concludes the show, End of Evangelion, is also on Netflix.

Don't forget one also piece of callback. When Ghidorah took over Mechagodzilla, this isn't the first time that happened. In the manga adaptation of the Heisei movie "Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2" Mechagodzilla was built out of the remains of Mecha-King Ghidorah's mechanical head that was salvaged. The mecha bested Godzilla by the climax until the programming of Mecha-King Ghidorah took over the controls from G force and completely brutalized Godzilla to near death until Rodan gave his life to give Godzilla a second wind.

I can’t believe that the Godzilla vs Kiryu reference wasn’t on this list. The scene where Ghidora’s consciousness from his skull takes over Mechagodzilla is a direct parallel to the 1954 Godzilla taking over Kiryu with his skull’s consciousness.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but when MechaG comes out of the mountain and looks at Godzilla he makes a series of 3 noises, the pattern sounds like a mechanical recriation of Ghidorah's alpha call in King of the Monsters. It's like at that moment, Ghidorah was letting Godzilla know who MechaG really is, Like saying: "Guess who's back Bitch"

Here are a couple you missed. 1. King Kong vs Godzilla (1962) Shoving a tree in Godzilla’s mouth and in Godzilla vs Kong Kong shoved the axe in his mouth. 2. Shin Godzilla when Godzilla was charging and shot his atomic breath at the ground and in Godzilla vs Kong he did the same thing but made a huge hole. 3. Godzilla destroying the military and attacking Pensacola and Hong Kong. Great reference to a majority of Toho Godzilla movies where Godzilla was an anti-hero just like in Godzilla vs Kong. 4. Godzilla and Mechagodzilla beam locks just like in Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (1974) and Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2 (1993) there were amazing scenes of both of their atomic breaths beam locked. In Godzilla vs Kong yes saw Godzilla and Mechagodzilla beam lock.

I'm not sure if this counts as a callback but I think it's worth mentioning. When Ren takes control of Mecha-G for the first time, he brutally kills the giant Skull-Crawler. But they way he does it seemed like a call back to Ghidorah in King of the Monsters. Mecha-G spreads the Skull-Crawler's arms apart the same way Ghidorah spreads Rodan's wings apart when they are fighting at sea; they each use their beam on the titan afterwards. Seemed like a cool callback.
