All these dull people saying use your phone……uh……maybe we just want to stick the phone away not getting vibrated to pieces, maybe we just want minimalistic on our cool bikes not a whacking great phone screen over heating and killing batteries. It’s a choice, not a necessity.

Probably worth mentioning that you can use the App without the device if you are the phone on the handlebars type. It will still do the same things and you can still choose whether to pay for the subscription or not. The devices themselves are great for the minimalist that still wants to have guidance on the bars without the phone.

I saw another review and he actually phoned Beeline to have the pay-for-voice explained and the reason is that the current solution is costing Beeline money. It may be an option that will be standard in the future and any standard option will be forever free in the device - says Beeline.

I just put in an order for this for one really amazing feature it has! You can set the destination, but only have a compass showing the way. That way you can drive however you want, and where you want, but will always know the direction you should be going!

Big downside (under certain circumstances): requires smartphone nav link to satellite, and presumably cell network signal to generate cell maps for Beeline route data. This is where a standalone GPS unit excels, requiring only GPS signal.

This thing is awesome I just got mine and love the fun road options and the route generator I didn’t realize all the fun super curvy roads around my area here in western Kentucky farm towns and it’s small size fits perfect on my 22 Kawasaki z900 it’s so small if u weren’t looking for it u would never kno it’s there I was really wanting a smart display with Apple CarPlay, but on a Z900there is nowhere to mount it unless you remove the OEM speedometer which I would imagine is a huge pain, but this still lets me have navigation on my handlebars without my phone that I can physically see and not just hear through my cardo and I don’t have to worry about my iPhone cameras getting messed up anymore

I'm seeing many questions regarding the use case. While I understand that it's not a GPS device itself and only displays information from your phone in a sleek manner, it is very useful if you live in a crime-infested place like me. People are having their phones stolen even while they're driving their cars, let alone riding motorcycles. I know it is pricey, but it's still cheaper than buying a new phone.

- because it looks less intrusive than a phone (especially on classic bikes) - because you can push the buttons with gloves - because the phone doesn't overheat and the battery last longer - because you can use it in the rain I'm simply buying it for the looks. I just don't want a big (phone or otherwise) screen on my bike, but I'm completely lost without navigation system. So beeline helps here. (I just think the App needs some more work... as a scenic user, I'm find this app very basic when it comes to route planning). If you're happy with a phone, carplay display, or garmin device, then good. No need for a beeline then.

I ordered mine via the Kickstarter campaign and it was amongst the first batch delivered. It arrived DOA and when I checked the Beeline website they already had an FAQ advising of the problem which is a manufacturing issue. It took two emails and two weeks to get a response from Beeline tech support and now I have to return the unit to Beeline (from Australia) and then when they check it they will send a replacement. To say I am not happy is an understatement. I advise people NOT to buy this product until there is some guarantee that Beeline have sorted out their QC issues. Caveat emptor!

Using GPS on your phone is processor/battery intensive. If your phone isn't charging (via the bike or extra battery bank) while using this, it's going to eat up your battery. I personally would prefer a anti-vibe phone mount with a charge cable and a GPS app. There are several GPS apps that will provide twisty routes.

In Man Cave Moto's video about it he mentioned that he asked the developers why the audio navigation (and other features) are behind a subscription pay wall and they basically said that the device has a cost per usage from the service which they have to pay. since they aren't a big company that can cover the service cost universally it unfortunately has to fall on the user. but with enough support from investors and consumers they hope to provide it for free in the future or in the next iteration.
