Best Guardian Deity Prizes in Suikoden II

In Suikoden II, once you recruit Jude into your party, you can make good use of all the Plans that you have picked up. It seems at first that it's simply a cosmetic change for your HQ, however you can get some good Runes from the Guardian Deity you can't get anywhere else. For example (Rabbit, Turtle, Rabbit, Turtle) will earn you both the Prosperity Rune and Fortune Rune, for double Potch and EXP respectively. If you're less concerned about earning potch, use (Dragon, Rabbit, Dragon, Rabbit) for a Fortune Rune, as well as a Dragon Incense, which heals you in combat 50HP for the entire party, but it never runs out. If you want a 2nd Kindness Rune however, one can be found here with (Turtle, Turtle, Rabbit, Unicorn). My favorite of them all however is the Hunter Rune (Unicorn, Unicorn, Turtle, Unicorn), which drops your hit accuracy to 5%, but if you land a hit you get a guaranteed drop from an enemy, which is great for Recipe Hunting in particular. There's a method for getting 100% accuracy with the Hunter Rune, but I'll talk about it more in the next video.

i remember doing all dragon parts and got only dragon incense, then a combination of turtle and dragon and got an armor. never thought you'd be able to get 2 stuff out of it lmao

Yeah, there's a surprising amount of stuff you can get from this Deity, but most of it is with Frankenstein combinations, the full regular sets give boring rewards if I recall correctly

I hear the OG was supposed to have one, but was scrapped. This is one of the many instances where New Game Plus would make sense. I will be very disappointed if New Game Plus isn't included

@@MegaHarv Yes The OG supposedly have NG+. Its on a cave located on Sajah village but the entrance closed by rock. Its possible to enter this "hidden dungeon" but expect crashing. If you want "somekind" of NG+, you can try save game glitch...

Holy fuck. I never knew this. And i played like 4x. I thought it was purely cosmetic. Like the thought never crossed my mind to try different combinations each run. I always picked the same thing and do the same thing each run. Lol

I don't blame you at all. It seems like a fairly insignificant thing in the big picture, and that the item could just be the same regardless. It's wild how expansive the item lists are for this feature

There's a few things in Undertale I could still touch on. I'll more likely hold off until Deltarune Chapter 3 comes out when I'm more in "Undertale Mode" as it were

Could u use the hunter rune to get recipe 6 from the gnomes if I'm remembering correctly I could never get that one if my memory is right

Oh God, you're thinking Recipe #34, which is a whole other can of worms, but yes you can use the Hunter Rune if you target specifically the Yellow DoReMi elf, although it takes a little preparation to prevent the glitch keeping it from showing up. Will be getting into the recipe glitches and how to avoid them in a week or two

Hunter Rune works best with a Double Beat Rune, (2x chance at getting the item to drop,) and a L range character with high SKL stat to avoid missing. I regularly use Nanami with Double Beat and Technique Runes in the early game for the same basic strategy, but to solve money issues instead.

If you get the hunter rune it wouldnt be useful anymore, already on end game afterall and you already got everything you need, there supposed to be new game+ for that but they cut it out from the final game. I always just take fortune rune to max 99 all my characters using 6 soldiers glitchm

I agree 100%. I'm just figuring the for the Suikoden Remaster collection that there will be a Trophy for collecting all the Recipes, and the Hunter Rune makes it easier, although there is also a Hunter Rune on the tree behind Grandpa Genkaku's house in the Post Game as well.

@@MegaHarv for trophy probably dragon seal incense is better? Iirc you cant get it anywhere else except from guardian deity 🤔
