If you have an oled you should be using 1000 max for peak brightness and 250 for paper white

I am 100% convinced the game was not always this blurry and washed. I really up the game gets a next gen upgrade because it’s actually a tad bit unbearable.

I did this but the one thing I’m still trying to figure out is how to turn off or get the motion blur to stop. I’m playing the game on PS5 on a Samsung QLED tv and I hate seeing the motion blur. One of the reasons why I wish Rockstar Games released an updated current gen version of RDR2 to PS5 like they did with GTA 5.

Honestly I recommend just going in and changing it then going back to game and do this a few times, mine looked way too bright so I have the peak brightness set to 600 and paper white set to 110-120 and it looks so much better than it did so I don’t think there is a universal right setup

Great advice. Was puzzled at why the aesthetics looked so washed out in HDR. This really improved things.

I know is to late but I recommend 1500 to 2000 and 250 to 300 u will see big difference

The first time this game first came out back in 2017. It looked so fucking good plus I had the disc version at the time with a regular ps4. Then the RDO Beta came out. Then I noticed the frame rate changed ALOT and the graphics. I will forever remember my first play through to me that was the real RDR2 experience.

Why cant i find the HDR slider on PC? i would love to have this but my settings are just always washed out.

I didn’t have HDR but my monitor supported different gaming displays, there was RTS, FPS, AOS, etc, I went through them and found out the FPS display is extremely rich in colour and light, if you have a *gaming* Samsung monitor!

Lol it don’t actually switch my game modes outside of the calibration screen, it might say it’s on game, but it always looks like it’s on cinnimatic, I just have no idea how to get it to look like a natural light source, No matter the paper white or peak brightness settings, it always looks dull. I’ll still never understand why Rockstar lowered the graphics. I started playing RDR2 at the moment that it went live, and the graphics were absolutely better. Then they released an update that made them worse. They say that they didn’t, but they absolutely did, and I don’t understand why they did it. Edit: playing on Series X and your recommendations do help a bit; however, no matter what we do we’ll never bring the graphics back to the quality it was on release.

While it is truen GAME mode can seem less washed out everything's else you said is wrong. 1 Assuming we can see the graphics that are "more better" on your tv with your calibrated picture settings then view from our phones, tv, consoles. 2. Telling us a certain digit number to set of brightness and paper white. Though as bad as rdr2 is with HDR looking so cloudy the only way i got it to look "better" than sdr is to raise my contrast and color to 100% with active contrast set to medium. 3. Talking agian about other people's screens based off of a "screen shot" from tv to tv systems to systems. 4. You cant go based of screen shots anyways even in your own gallery on your OWN tv/console it need to b a moving picture because you may adjust graphics for a picture and will look off through the video mode. 5. Rdr 2 is barely getting 29 fps. 6 sdr has more vibrancy than hdr. If anyone agreed with anything this dude says you have no idea what graphics are.

I have a 2021 Bravia x750h 55 inch and a 2023 LG C2 48 inch. I remember playing this game when it came out on regular ps4 and then a ps4 pro and thought it looked amazing. Just spent over a hour installing on a ps5 for the first time and it looks like dog s***. The fps is atrocious
