You need to be asking this advice from a small exotics vet that knows rabbits not a hay company. Each rabbit needs a different amount of pellets, and vegetables based on weight, hay and water should always be available. Some rabbits can’t eat certain vegetables because they are too high in oxalates or calcium that cause bladder sludge or stones to build up. Do your research as an owner. The House rabbits society has a list of what vegetables contain high amounts of oxalates and calcium. We have 6 senior rabbits from 6 to 12 years of age. I only feed veggies 3 times a week and very specific greens or my rabbits have a tendency to get too gassy. They get 1 to 2tbsp of pellets daily, unlimited orchard grass and Timothy hay mixed and always fresh water. The vets I see have 3 rabbit vets on staff and agree with diet I provide since my rabbits don’t have a lot of issues and yes I’ve had them ALL since they were 4 months old. They all were adopted from the humane society of MN majority being breeder or 4H dumps or foster failures. I usually go through at least one 40lb box of Small Pet Select hay a month. 😂😂😂😂 There’s a local farmer that sells hay in my area that’s checked and certified by the local university but the hay has tendency to not be cut up enough and just creates a huge mess unless I manually go cutting it up as I take the bale apart.
