Great information that I haven't seen anywhere else! Thoughtful, fact based analysis that I can really use.

My son ran his new H9 last week during a 2 day pistol class that we took together. He shot over 1000 rounds throughout the two day class. The first day he shot OK but wasn't happy with his performance. The trigger is really different than anything out there and he wasn't used to it. He debated if he should keep going or go back to his glock. He went home that night and did a bunch of dry fire drills and decided to run the H9 again the second day. He shot the pistol better and felt more comfortable with it. By the end of the day he was shooting it about as well as his glock (stock glock with 19 grip and 17 slide). A few things of note. He had zero failures over the 1000+ rounds. The gun got hot and was at times uncomfortable in his appendix rig (this is going to happen with any gun when you shoot so much but especially a full metal pistol). He didn't see any performance advantages of the pistol over his glock. He likes the gun and it's a novelty but it's not a revolutionary shooter or anything like that. Reliability was good.

I think P365 is going to take over the game completely being able to mix and match parts from gun to gun is insane. Let alone the performance and aftermarket support which is only going to get better and SIG is doing such a good job. I’m truly impressed with this company.

I want this set up with a Shalotek 12 round grip (maguts to get 14), a 365X size slide with a PMM or Radian Ramjet comp, and a TLR7

I did my own trigger job gently polished everything that made contact even the FCU on the one side gently. It literally is close to my Giessele trigger I did however put on M*CARBO striker housing and striker that made a difference. I don’t like messing with tolerances of my trigger on EDC guns but it’s really good now there’s very little reset just enough. You can definitely tell it’s a striker fired trigger if you pull it really slowly and unevenly, but if you pull like you’re supposed to, it feels almost as good as my rifle triggers.

PMM on the Shalotek frame for the win

I put the x-macro lower on my XL slide. This combination is very nice for shooting and carrying in the fall/winter/spring. However with only a tshirt for cover the x-macro grip is a bit long for summer/hot weather carry (for me anyway as I don't like to print). I shoot the regular XL grip just fine and with a good grip I have no problem managing recoil for follow up shots. Yes it's smaller but it's not a G19/P10C, it's really just a micro compact on boosters. I have no issue with it as a stock carry gun.

I see others have brought it up but i have the Icarus XXL Marco lower and the grip is very well textured. Although i do agree with you that the "gas pedals" could use a deeper more aggressive texture.

I love that they don’t push the M*CARBO trigger as the most important part of the package because it isn’t. A good trigger job minor tweaking can make a OEM trigger almost as nice and way more reliable.

I've never held an Icarus, yet I've been wanting the A.C.E. Evo. Definitely looking a lot more at the Shalotek grip and would like to get the PMM system.

I don’t think in 10 years there’s going to be something that blows this out of the water, but it will probably improve upon the technology

I have the Tactical Trigger kit in my pistol, really makes a difference to the trigger pull. I don't know if it's better or worse than the M*carbo but would recommend giving it a shot. Also, you might want to give the Phlster Enigma a try instead of the belly band. Looks like it would be less bulky and I can conceal an XL is basketball shorts with it. Thanks for the video, have to decide between a PMM comp or a Shalotek. Also I'm subscribed, gonna go through some of your backlog. Keep it up!

The icarus x macro has more aggressive texturing than the evo module

Off-topic but I’m not a fan of red dots on my every day carry. I do have a slide with the red dot for my P365 but I prefer just using the night fision 3 dot white sites. I don’t see a big difference accuracy in accuracy or sight acquisition obviously, there is some advantages not enough for the inconvenience. I shoot pretty well with iron, but it makes sense for everything else. I think they’re trying to push red dots because they get paid to push them and everybody likes buying things and having a reason to do it. But I think just like trigger it’s not nearly as needed.

There’s so many things wrong with the h9 in my opinion. For one why even even have an FCU with no aftermarket not to mention it comes with the metal lower. It just seems like Daniel defense saw how well the P365 is doing and wanted a piece of the pie. But instead of being humble Wilson combat and just improving upon an awesome platform. They literally buy a gun that has issues in completely redo it so they have their own version and even competitive for so many different reasons first of all being the size it’s larger and kinda too big for a CCW. I don’t know who is running these companies, but they make so many blunders. Sig is one of the only companies doing what the gun enthusiast wants.

I know it wasn’t on the list but I am looking into getting a Cz shadow 2 compact for EDC. I was wondering if you would be able to recommend it or to skip out and go for the sig or a different pistol

Do a fair comparison . Use a icarus macro frame not the obsolete Ace elite or even use an EVO but don't compare Apple's to Oranges . Shilotech makes excellent products but the are a copycat brand. Took design ideas from mischief machine and eros of icarus Evo and attempted to combine them. It's better than the original mischief machine and icarus frame but both of those companies have made massive innovation since the original model you compare the flex too. The sentinel XXL slide is an FDEZ copy even the same name with slightly different comp and no porting cut. Like I said I own all three frames and both slides. Honest side by side. Icarus macro with shilotech XXLC Sentinel is the best combo. The flex actually works best paired with the FDEZ XXL Sentinel with ported barrel. Mischief machine frame performs best with the pmm barrel and comp. But best overall setup Icarus macro frame,shilotech XXLC Sentinel slide, DPM recoil kit . Carry use intellifire trigger,range gun MCARBO trigger.

The DD is total garbage,, we have one in the shop it is criminal. Horrible trigger, sloopy slide, fit and finish is horrible,, stay away
