Thinking about a pair of these for a gift. For a room that is about 14 feet by 17 feet, would getting the 4305ps with a subwoofer be good enough or would you recommend stepping up to the 4329P?

Either combo would work well, going with the sub might give you more flexibility in placement. Please feel free to reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss your room layout in more detail. Thanks for watching

Quick question: Can either the Klipsch 9’s or the big JBLs referenced here be added to DUAL subs? So not one sub but two. I’m looking for a 2.2 active setup. Thanks Audio Advice…Huge fan of your videos!

@@AudioAdvice The problem is that then the bass is mixed (which is fine for movies). But for music, I want true 'stereo bass' aka full range from the left and the right speaker independently. Let me know if this is possible. If not, no worries, but thought if anyone could figure it out, it would be you!

Which one do you recommend if you still also want to connect vintage hifi separates like a R2R and tape deck through a pre-amp? I am afraid that the additional analog to digital to analog conversion destroys the analog quality (thats what I experience currently with my KEF LSX). In addition I also need the TV connection. The room is quite large.

Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss your needs in more detail. The JBL's have balanced analog inputs and a toslink for TV, they might be your best choice, but we can certainly help by learning more. Thanks for watching

Great video. I am fine using a remote to change volume. I understand that HDMI passes higher resolution audio than optical. But from a practical perspective do you think HDMI audio from television shows is actually any better than optical? Seems like there would be no practical difference and I would be fine with the JBLs.
@AudioAdvice
@AudioAdvice Жыл бұрын
If you are ok using the remote for volume optical is fine. Glad you enjoyed the video.

I have the Klipsch Fours (R41PMs) and while connectivity and subwoofer control is awesome, they don't sound nearly as good as my passive Triad LCRs. Good for gaming but not 2 channel hifi. Better than sound bars.
@AudioAdvice

That sounds like a pretty accurate analysis. The speakers featured in this video though are far better than the R41PM's and would certainly challenge your Triads :) Thanks for sharing

@@AudioAdvice I'm sure they must sound better than the 41s. I'd use the 9s or 7s if I had them but wouldn't ever buy them. I need to A/B speakers to be able to hear which are better. I run bi-amped quad 15' Marantz woofers with my Triads, crossed over at 100 hz.

Horn loaded tweeters are always enough to scare me away.
@AudioAdvice
@AudioAdvice 11 ай бұрын
In the old days horn loaded tweeters were loud but tended to be a bit harsh. The newer designs, particularly the new patented JBL design on these have largely removed that harshness and now measure and sound terrific. They are worth hearing.

Proprietary connections between the primary and secondary speakers make Klipsch powered speakers useless to me. Something like an RCA or even ethernet cable, sure. Proprietary? Not interested.

Best ?! No Neumann, Genelec, ATC, Bohne Audio, Barefoot, PSI Audio, ME Geithain... instead cheaply made in china Klipsch. I dont understand why always these clickbait titles, why not ,,Selection of Active Speaker over 1K,,. JBL is okey, ìm not a big fan of horns but for some people theyre okey. But specially the Klipsch Master & Slave Systems are the first k.o that i wouldnt buy them. i know you sell them so you need to,push them a little but as active, i would choose long established Brands who have a name in this sector. Its an solid review as always but it would be interesting how these sound compared to the big names in the Active section as mentioned before in my comment
@AudioAdvice
@AudioAdvice Жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. Those are all very good professional brands, but most all of them lack the input flexibility for home use cases. Perhaps we should have called it the best consumer powered speakers over 1k :) Our founder does have an older pair of Genelec 208's and felt the JBL 4305's had a much sweeter and open top end.

@@AudioAdvice but why a speaker need HDMI build in ? Just buy an good DAC or use for the start the AVR. As more Inputs and Electronic Parts are inside, more can get damaged and youve less space for good capacitators and high quality amplifier parts. Sound is of course subjective, but with nowdays DSP you can tweak the loudspeaker as you want, and with Genelecs powerful SAM Dsp Platform, you can even measure them in. Dont want to criticize, i own / hear with actives for many years and use them with a High End Studio based DAC - without even an remote and for me all these gadets the brands like klipsch build in their actives are just weak parts for more problems after the warranty expire - specially theyve only 1 Year on the electronics (and theyre made like most klipsch stuff in china… wich is also a point). I understand that people want an All In one product, otherwise we havent so much of them the past year Buchardt, KEF etc. but sometimes its better to stay a little bit more ,,oldschool,, and choose stuff wich is many years on the market with confirmed longterm qualitys

Why are you going this in? At the end of the day, this is a sales pitch for speakers they’re selling. So why are you getting wound that they didn’t go super niche for products they’ll never carry?
@edmundgil6008

Those are all “Pro Audio” monitors that perform best in near-field studio systems where the user wants “accurate” or “linear” playback. I agree though, the both Klipsch & JBL are still dated; old Bluetooth codec, no Wi-Fi Network connectivity for Apple Airplay 2, chrome cast, or a native app like the Kef Connect App. And no HDMI? But still, the Audio Advice clearly told us the JBL & Klipsch lacked those things. Maybe check out the System Audio Legend 5.2 Silverbacks! Now these are meant for high end home audio. The Silverbacks use a WiSA (wireless) preamp/ transmitter stereo hub. Unfortunately, they are direct to consumer, but they are awesome, and #1 or #2 on my list! Also, SVS has the Prime Wireless Pro powered speakers. They look great, and have super connectivity. I hear great things about their sound too.
@vtkz
@vtkz Жыл бұрын
@@edmundgil6008 Just because theyre pro audio doesnt mean you cant use it in home environment. Ive many Friends who use Genelecs, Neumanns etc in normal Living room and it works perfectly. And no one misses the times with ,,normal,, passive speakers. Most people never testet it out. I had both (Studio & Home speakers) and i prefered the studio gear. And personally this wireless Stuff is better when you sourced it out. More Technologys on the Backplate is wasted space for good Amps. XLR & Digtal Input & Ethernet Port is more than enough. But the Hifi Brands doesnt have that because they just bought the cheap Pre made Plate Amps in China for the lowest price instead to develop a complete new product
