Watching this as a preventative measure. My son (17) is helping his aunt with yard work & she warned there is likely some poison ivy along her fence but needs it removed before it takes over her whole yard.

When i was a kid and up to 18 or so i was always getting into it . Always loved going down in creek beds and thats mostly where you get it along rivers and fences . Well ive had it so bad there wasn't a soot on my body that didnt have it . Down there to. Even eyelids. A mess. I tried everything they had nothing worked. My Grandma told me when my grandpa was in the war they got it so bad. And they would use bleach. So im in so much agony i try anything. So i had big blisters all down my arms . I got over the sink and got to scratchin felt so good then i poured 100% bleach down my arm and it burns alittle . Then washed up with soap. All scabed over bit it was gone. So everytime after . I noticed a spot on my hand or leg . The little bubbles. Thats what i did. And stoped it before it spread. Also i was getting it so much that i learned not to scratch . If i felt an itch after being out around them places i would pat it so they wouldn't pop if it was. Until i could get home to check it better. She helped me so much with that advice . We asked al kinds a people . They say oatmeal baths or that stuff you buy at the store that never worked. So thats my experience.

I used to work as a machine mechanic and always get dark grease on my fingernails. Get a fingernail brush put dish detergent on it or any degreaser, rub it on your fingernails, wash and repeat if needed.

I got Poison Ivy and I have no idea how I got it?! It's on my face and my hands and my arm and it itches like nobody's business. I've been using Caladryl, the doctor put me on Prednisone for a month and then I'm also washing my hands and face and neck with a Tee tree and peppermint soap. I find if I was with the soap and then the caladryl it helps. I've got blisters and liquids oozing out of my blisters. Ugh🥴

I can see our fingernails can get ignored. Dawn dish soap cuts greese and oils also.

My husband caught poison ivy messing with the back yard ,,where cant find the soap or is there something else helpful..
