Hi Luke Thank you for that informative video! I have one question, when you compare the kyto and the heartmath monitor side by side means one on each ear paired to different phones, are the readings the same or do the differ a lot? Another question, from your experience are monitors which use optical technology like the heartmath really worser than monitors which use electrodes in terms of accuracy? I have read so... Last question, did you find a way to use hrv monitors in order to tell you whether you got lost/ wandering mind or not? Really appreciate taking your time to answer my questions!
@Headfulness
@Headfulness 4 жыл бұрын
Hey SkillfulA, Thanks for your questions. Here’s my answers. 1. The readings from the HRV monitors are the same from my experience. 2. I’m not sure how the accuracy compares to medical grade equipment, but it’s accurate enough for coherence training. 3. Yes I have found ways to use HRV biofeedback to monitor my mental state. I can show you how if you are interested in 1-1 coaching.

@@Headfulness Much merits for your kind and quick reply! 1. Good to know that they are similar because someone kindly ordered one for me from china and it would be a waste of his funds and my effort and time if it wouldn’t be accurate enough to explore the potential of hrv as an affordable feedback and motivation tool for meditation. 2. I didn't necessarily mean expensive medical grade devices but more those new affordable ecg wristbands like eg the spovan balde smart watch which even has an heart sticker! I was just wondering if you have ever used something like that and what your experience with it is. 3. Very kind of you, would be definitely interesting to get some first hand personal observations from you but I am a monk who doesn't have nor handles money so I can't reimburse you monetary for 1to1 coaching which I believe is usually asked for something like that!?

Hey man great review! However I was wondering if the breathing pacer optimizes to the speed that helps you personally get the most coherence, or if you have to manually try different paces and just look at what setting gave you the best results (because that may take awhile?) Also, is the ratio of inhale to exhale always set to an 1:1 ratio? or can you make the exhale longer on the pacer? Thank you!
@orion9k
@orion9k Жыл бұрын
I Have no idea how this tech works but I do know a thing or two about breathing techniques👆if you want to calm down and relax your heart, you want to inhale all the way down to your belly and then as slow as possible exhalation that feels as comfortable as possible 👆 If you want to increase alertness, you do the same but with fast exhalation 👌 I'm not sure what these devices are good for, just set your alarm on your phone and do these breathing techniques combined with different mantras and you're all set 🙏 One last thing, you can do and ohmmmm sound on your exhalation to create vibrations in your chest, this will loosen up mucus for some people especially in cold season, and improve breathing significantly 😀
@SimpleSauna
@SimpleSauna Жыл бұрын
I have the Heartmath Inner Balance and you can adjust the pacing to your preference, although the ratio of inhale to exhale is always 1:1. It still works great and really helps with HRV training. It's a great device to get feedback on when you are actually in coherence and develop that skill over time.

I’ve never found one that gives a consistently accurate HRV reading. It’s been 6 months or so since I’ve tried any that use phone camera so something new may have come out. Thank you for the video, you have been very comprehensive and of great help. Do you recommend inner balance because of its app or is it more accurate than kyto? unfortunately the Kyto I would be forced to take in China and in addition to long waiting times there would be customs costs for Italy, so it would cost me much more. Are there other cheap devices as an alternative? would smartwatches be valid (which ones to consider?)? I can't find the app you use in the video for iOS, can you point me to apps similar to the one you used? i tried different apps but i don't see them as suitable for breathing as the ones you used. @Michelle, are you asking if you could share the Inner Balance? Yes you could but if you are asking to share the account that tracks each persons session then I would ask why? Of course you could share the account but heartmath doesn’t charge you for separate account. The app on your phone and the cloud are free. You could have your own separate accounts on your phones or tablets. Sharing an account only misleads your history recordings, plus each personal will have their own preference settings and challenge levels based on their own needs and physiology. Does this help?
