@@difficult-e468 Try this then. Get a pack of Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Wet one in warm water and squeeze it out a bit. Wipe the windshield with that. Dry with a microfiber towel MEANT FOR windows. This is ESSENTIAL. Waffle Weave works best. You are likely getting the streaks because you aren't using a waffle weave or glass specific good towel.

Clay bar your windshield and apply a thin coat of wax inside and out every 6 months or so. No more streaks or fog

This is pretty much exactly what professional window cleaners do. Professional window cleaners also use dawn because it is amazing for cleaning windows.

Glass cleaners alone can’t fully degrease the film on the inside. You use a glass cleaner at the end of the process as a “finisher”.

Pan, I had to come back to this video and post how incredibly awesome this worked. Of all the glass cleaners and special microfibre towels I have purchased, this left the inside of my windshield invisible. No steaks, no smears, nothing! This will now become my process when the windshield becomes too messy. Sometimes the simplest way is the best way! 👍🏻👍🏻👊👊

What if it’s 95 degrees out and as you apply the soap and water it drys fast? How to squeegee it at that point? Can i pre fill a bottle with water and dawn ahead of time will it last me throughout a 8 hour mobile detailing day? Or should i just carry the dawn with me and squirt it into a fresh new water spray bottle each time? Then do half a windshield at a time if im in the sun so it doesn’t dry too fast? Thanks so much!

I have a Prius with a large angled windshield and the best thing I ever did was buy a window-tinters squeegee off Amazon. It’s fairly small, has some weird angles on it, which comes in handy, no handle so I can maneuver it properly around the edges. It was about $12 for a 2-pack and the silicone blade has lasted for 2 years. To me the only way to get the inside of a window properly clean is with a squeegee. Absolutely no hazing at all. I’m glad someone finally made a video about this. You need VERY LITTLE soap btw and can apply the soapy water anyway you want. A clean, dry microfiber cloth to get the edges, drips and places the squeegee can’t get to is a good idea too. I’ll post a link to the squeegee I got if anyone is interested.

Can you use the dawn water in a sprayable solution? How does it work for exterior windows? I’m curious because I feel like streak free glass cleaner is expensive and you need a lot of it to be effective. Thanks for tips!

Yes you could use it in a sprayer. In that case, it becomes like an all-purpose cleaner/degreaser.

Great video. You should do a video on how to clean that area behind the nav screen. I’ve attempted it before but am afraid I’m going to break it or snap it off (I’m a big guy like you). That area really sticks out because it’s all dusty, while the rest of the area is clean. How do you handle that area?

Yes you can use this method to degrease the surface. No problem if there is some overspray a bit on the paint, it's just a soap. Just thoroughly rinse afterwards. Welcome to my channel. Yes using dishwashing liquid is totally safe on tinted windows. After doing this procedure, you would come with a glass towel and ammonia glass cleaner to "finish" up everything. Glass cleaners alone can't cut through the heavy grime, film, and off-gassing like a dishwashing liquid can. Hence why we do a degreasing procedure first, and then finish with a typical glass cleaner.

I use water mixed 10:1 with windshield washing solvent, and six drops of Dawn dish soap into a spray bottle.. been using it all my 28yr career as a Detailer. Works Great inside/out 🤩✨

Yes isopropyl alcohol can also work, but for this soapy mixture I like even more. And for the toughest grime, you can even use a magic eraser with the soapy solution on the inside of the windshield (as long as the windshield doesn't have a tint film on it of course).

I'm a professional detailer and I prefer to use a spray bottle with 30% methylated spirits and 70%water spray it on the window then wipe the window with a microfibre cloth

Try dawn with the magic eraser. Follow that up with a 50-50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water in a spray bottle, using a quality waffle weave towel. That seems to work great for me with no streaks.

Until you breathe on it or wait till wet(high humidity) weather. You'll see how "streak free" this method is. How to make it actually clean? Use very soft and fluffy towel and isopropyl alcohol - higher percentage - better and wipe the glass using that. THEN it will be truly coean and streak free

I bought a gallon of wind shield cleaner from Walmart that was for bug removal it had rain x in it and when I turn on my wind shield sprayer it's like it left a grease film on my windshield that I absolutely hate when it is barely raining I turn on my wipers intermittently it just streaks the windshield making it almost impossible to see through I absolutely hate this stuff.

Can I use this method on ceramic tint? Along with Stoners invisible glass? I just got a new car and want to properly take care of it myself. I just got ceramic tints on it and want to make sure I can keep it clean without ruining the tint. I also have two kids that I’m sure are going to get the windows pretty dirty lol

I use the Sprayway Glass Cleaner and it is plain awesome. We don't get Dawn in our country. Pls suggest alternatives. Thank you.

I don’t approve. Squeegee is a good idea. Just that I’m pretty sure dawn is oil based cleaner. Much like compound takes off compound. Oil based cleaners are great for grease and oil. But if there is any residue of oil based cleaner left, it will show. And if something smudges the glass, you’ll be there for a deep cleaning because that layer of oil based cleaner that looks invisible because it’s flush with a squeegee is actually still there. Windex and other products are alcohol based or designed to dry up/ evaporate, completely. Best is to spray the whole widows with foam window cleaner. Use 1 towel to pick up the dirt. And another towel for drying the window. And if there is a lot of build up like cigarette smoke grime, there are a lot of great cleaners for auto painters that pick it up instantly but leave that thin layer of oil/streaks which can be cleaned with glass cleaner.
