The reboots of both Battlestar Galactica & Lost in Space demonstrate such love for the original properties, that they blessed the fans with the shows they could have had all along. That is rare with any sequels or reboots of film frachises, and almost unheard of in television. Kudos to everyone involved in catering to both the adult and child in me. Excellent editing Mr Lee.

No they didnt show love. Battlestar Galactica made an unnessecery change to a character (starbuck) to appease a minority of people.

@@Suisfonia; you really don't watch the show, for sure. Kara Thrace was a even more intersting character than the original. Same to Colonel Tigh and even Adama itself. And Laura Roslin was the woman with the bigger balls of the galaxy, for sure. A lesson on how create a character without need of woke propaganda...

@@solucaoatende Actually I have watched the show, and no I didn't have a problem with Roslin, my problem was them changing a character that didn't NEED to be changed. That's all. Don't assume that people haven't watched something just because they don't agree with a change.

At first, I was also disappointed with the reimagined Jupiter 2 however as we got to see and understand the design better week after week I really ended up liking it a lot. Why on earth haven't I seen this availalbe on blu-ray DVD? BTW, I cancelled my NetFlix account the week after the last episode aired and I had an account that went all the way back to the red evelope DVD days, but them cancelling this show was the final straw for me.

This show or short limited series whatever you wanna call it I don’t care. In my opinion was absolutely terrible. Visually it was quite nice. I’m not gonna deny this. The ship is an interesting design, especially when you consider the designs from the original series or the 90s movie. But unfortunately, the designs of the ships are pretty much. The only thing that are going for in this show. Very little in my opinion is actually interesting. The majority of the characters are boring and one dimensional. There is basically forced diversity where they’re really doesn’t need to be. Some characters have been changed completely except for their names. But most of all and this is in my mind the most egregious thing. The robot is different. And not only is it different but it’s not human made. Which, if I remember correctly in the original series, the robot was actually made by Will Robinson I think. But in this particular case the robot is basically an extraterrestrial life form. And I feel that it just completely ruins the whole experience.

@ultrajd. The Robot was not designed by Will Robinson. It was the standard Alpha Control Environmental Robot used for space missions.

Too much feeling like a HOSTAGE in an amusement park ride, and less of the more cozy feeling of a PARTICIPANT in a Winnebago-like camping ride with family and friends through the Galaxy in the original. ... When you over-CGI something - as is too much done here (hence the 'amusement park ride') - you DICTATE to the viewer, while not allowing them to feel PARTICIPATING in the story by filling in the gaps in the special effects with their own fantasies. ... Many times most of us, despite of our ages, do want the child in us, our sense of wonder, to come out. ... This was key to the magic of the original - and obviously current producers don't fully grasp this - STAY AWAY FROM AMUSEMENT PARK RIDES!!

This is not the Jupiter 2. That’s why this show and the movie failed. The reason the Star Trek reboots worked (for the most part) was because the writers DID NOT forget who the star of the show was… and that was the ENTERPRISE … with few modifications…

I grew up with the original this show did not fail. This Jupiter 2 is this modern rendition of current times.

That’s not a very high bar to pass. At least the film version was a little bit closer to the original continuity to a point. This one is nowhere near reminiscence of the original. The robotic character is completely different. One of the children is basically adopted if I recall correctly and for no apparent reason, other than to pander, they are colored. Smith well “Smith” has not only been changed to a woman, but also is nowhere near anywhere like the original version of either rendition. Has become just this skittish kid that freezes up at the slightest inkling of a high stress situation unlike the original black-and-white show or the 90s movie where he was actually the robotics specialist. Visually this show is pretty. I will not deny this. But unfortunately, everything else it was just awful.

You know why the LIS Show “reboots” keep failing? The IDIOT writers forgot that the actual star of the show was the JUPITER 2… the ORIGINAL JUPITER 2… The reason the Star Trek reboots and movies ( for the most part) succeeded is because the ENTERPRISE (with few modifications) remained the star of the show AND for the most part as it looked in the TV series. All they had to do was modify the size of the ship and keep it looking as it was (on the TV show) and find creative writers to produce great story lines and then… you may have gotten interest from the audience…. I was very disappointed in the movie and the few attempts to reboot a series that had serious potential if done correctly. 😪
