15 Knife Brands: Fallkniven, Benchmade, Gerber, Victorinox, Kershaw, Cold Steel, Kizer, CRKT Fossil, Leatherman Skeletool, Milwaukee, DeWalt, COAST, Kingmax, Vulcan, Master USA. Folding Knives (pocket knives) compared for initial sharpness, blade lock release pressure, corrosion resistance, and blade tip durability. Knives were then sharpened using the same sharpening system, then compared for blade edge durability. Finally, we look at a knife that's been in use for over 65 years. I purchased all of the every day carry (EDC) knives to ensure unbiased test reviews. So, thank you for supporting the channel!

@@ProjectFarm Something that's been on my mind for while. During comparative tests like this, you could put the previous graph bars over the new graph bars for quick reference to the number being compared. Like the first sharpness number in red graph bar, and new sharpness number in blue bar. That way the final graph would be easy to read at a glance. To show before and afters.

My grandpa lived from 1937-2022 and served in the Marine Corps. He had quite a few Case knives and we would use them hunting and fishing together. I remember all of them being well worn and looking the same way as Mr. Smith's. Sharpened and used many times. Because of that, I have two Case knives I rotate, those being a yellow Stockman, as well as a yellow Trapper. Just thought I'd share. Mr. Smith reminded me of my grandpa. He was and is my hero. Thanks for the hard work on all your videos. I use them for a lot of things I buy whether it be tools, fluids and other things.

Would be interested to see a permanent marker comparison. I put my name on my dive gear but it fades extremely fast. Yep Robert is right. Brand new, those specific Milwaukee knives open by them selves if you just hold them down. Upside down the blade will fall out, and if you just hold it straight down the knife is supposed to open and lock on its own after pressing the button and releasing it. They are called “Fastbacks”.love those things. But get concrete in them your f$cked. Tool brands make nice low priced knives that can take a beating. I used to have like 5 different knives for different tasks.

You know... I realize how invaluable you and your channel is to me. I have been using your tests now for a couple years since I found you and due to your tests I have bought some amazing products I would never have known about. I want to say thank you for everything you do here. In a world of cheap crap out on the market priced so high I feel your channel is probably my (and probably others) most important KZfaq subscription. Here is a little story from a little while back... So I was looking to buy gloves and a bunch of other stuff from Depot (Home Depot) and remember seeing a test you done but, I had forgotten the results. As I was looking over the glove rack trying to find what I thought might be the best glove for the job I was doing at the time a Depot employee came to me and asked if I needed any help. First I had to get over the shock of a Depot employee actually attempting to help a customer, as here in southern California that type of thing is a VERY rare experience. After I got over the shock of being helped in a Depot I asked the question "What do you think is the best glove here?" So he pulled out his phone and right away I recognized what was on is screen. It was the results of one of your glove tests. This dude actually took screen shots of your video to use as a tool to choose the best products for himself as well as for helping customers. Turning a long story shorter, I ended up buying some gloves and by the end of the job was the only one who didn't wear holes through the fingertips. Hat's off to the employee of Home Depot in North San Bernardino who took the time to do that and for helping customers without them having to chase you down for 20 minutes!!!!

As a "Knife Guy" for most of my life. And as a mildly serious collector I really enjoyed this test. Especially the last part, with the Green Beret veteran! The side to side pressure test, in most cases seemed to favor the knives that use washers as opposed to bearings on the pivot point. While I do have a few well made edc pocket knives made in China, I do favor the utility and overall strength of the Benchmade, Cold Steel, and Fallkniven. Once Again another Great Video!

I have broken the tips off of 2 Kershaws, and have not purchased a new one for almost 7 years. I'm still on my original benchmade, no problems, ultra reliable, holds an edge, lightweight. It has been my EDC for 4 years consecutive. If i ever need another knife, it will be a benchmade.

I have carried $20 Kershaw's for years I have never broken a blade tip and I use mine many times a day, I rarely ever have to sharpen either. The opening test was the only one I had an issue with, as you can't show opening force using the wrong opening method for a knife. The correct way to open a knife with a flipper is with the flipper, and Kershaw's are effortless.

I wonder how the modern ones measure to the past? Many blades now days are made in China (which many associate with mass production/low quality) but most blades now days are some version of stainless steel, since you collect Case, how do you rate the older vs the newer? The reason I ask is I have a much older Cold Steel that was made in Japan vs a newer Cold Steel made in China could tell the blade steel quality has taken a hit over time (could also say similarly with one of my Gerbers as well).
