Great video. At one point you mentioned doing a more detailed sighting in video for the landslyde. Curious if you ever filmed that and plan to post. It would be super helpful right now, I just put their picatinny Slider site on my Ventum Pro. I’m really close but I’d love to see some details on how more experienced archers are sighting this thing in. Thanks again for the helpful content.

On the parts that I mount to the bow where there is any factory finish I put black electrical tape on the piece and train edges so it doesn't show. The tape helps insure no vibration and helps not leaving marks on the bow. It also helps with locking down the positions you want on different things you attach. I prefer having bow in the vertical position using levels to get rest and d- loop height. To me it's more accurate than letting the arrow hang down. But then I'm a little OCD about stuff like that. Probably from the days of long range rifle shooting and reloading. Enjoy your videos. Keep them coming!!!!

The electrical tape thing is an idea! I'm assuming that as you tighten what ever it is down it depresses and creates a molded seat?? As far as finding knocking points goes I did find my nocking point with the bow vertical in the video but I generally will do both. But that was just kind of an initial set up of the bow anyways and there will be a lot of tuning that I'll do after to get everything perfect.

Outstanding explanation on the Landslide. The one thing no one has explained is the ability to subtract pins if one wants to? Example a 5 pin and you want a 4 pin or 3 pin sight? Thanks Excellent Video

bugger, that's what I call a video made for very few people who where lucky enough to get their hands on the landslyde 😀 ...I guess we have to wait here in down under at least another 6 month till it gets here ...even at LAS it is sold out ...🤕
@AngusMoss_Archery

Dang, I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah it does seem like everyone is sold out of everything these days. I have a few people from Australia that I keep in contact with from time to time and they say it's way worse there and when things are available the costs are really high. I hope you get a chance to get/try one soon! 🙂

It seems the adjustable red mpointers don't have much travel in the them. The little slots aren't very long. I'm betting they change that????
@AngusMoss_Archery
@AngusMoss_Archery 2 жыл бұрын
You are correct on that for sure. One thing you can do is swap the top pointer with the bottom pointer and that will give you a wider gap.. You can also buy an extra set and put two bottom pointers on your sight or two top pointers on your sight.

Do you not worry about nock pinch? I’ve seen a lot of people swear by it and others say as long as your nocks are not huge then it doesn’t really matter?
@AngusMoss_Archery
@AngusMoss_Archery 2 жыл бұрын
Well, I generally try not to dismiss anything as unimportant. I take everything that I can into account. I always check for nock pinch at full draw on a draw board when I'm setting up/working on my equipment. I try to get it so that the nock has BARELY enough room at full draw to just BARELY wiggle. 🙂 With that said, I don't know that nock pinch is super important to have good accuracy.. but I treat it like it is. Thanks for watching the Vid and let me know if I can help with anything else!

Could you tell me why your D-Loop is so long ? Not trying to sound like a smart alec...just curious
@AngusMoss_Archery
@AngusMoss_Archery 2 жыл бұрын
My facial structure and arm length make it so that I have to have a longer D-Loop. Basically its so that I can avoid excessive face contact and have proper skeletal alignment at my anchor point. Basically you want you D-Loop to be long enough so that there is a good transfer of load from your arms/shoulder into your back and give you good clearance from the arrow. D-Loop length and draw length are NOT connected. You want your draw length to be set so that you don't have very much face contact with the string, and little to no contact with the arrow. After you find the draw length that fits you best THEN you should start working on D-Loop length. The purpose of shortening and lengthening your D-Loop is to fine tune your anchor point, skeletal structure, and maximize "motion in direction" Pressure. Motion in direction is your "push/Pull" pressure towards your aiming point (Roughly). The straighter you can make that pressure the better off you will be.. (motion in direction is a more complex topic than how I explained it but that's a basic idea of the concept I think) I'll try to get a video up on how to find your correct draw/loop length in the next couple of months. So: #1: It depends on your body. Most people have too short of a D-Loop. I hate to sound like I'm bashing shops but the reason shops like people to get "that extra half inch of draw length" by putting a "5/8" loop on is because they don't want to spend the time with each individual person to figure out the correct draw length and Loop length for them. It's much easier and time efficient for the shops to convince all of the shooters/hunters that "a 5/8" loop is the industry standard" because their "doing you you a favor" by getting you "that extra 1/2 inch of draw length" when in reality they're just making their job easier by forcing everyone Into the same box. Most people are using hunting bows too, so the axle to axle on those are usually a lot shorter which makes having a shorter D-Loop even worse. #2: When you shorten your d-loop and increase your draw length what you're doing is pulling that string back even tighter into your face and inflicting more face contact with the arrow.. either that or you're just altering the way you're holding your head or your body/form which isn't good either. A 1/2" of draw length does absolutely nothing for you in the big picture of things.. If you can increase your accuracy by 1/3 (or a 1/4, or a 1/5, etc.) and only lose 5 foot a second, that's awesome if you ask me. #3 that's not to say that all shops suck or that all shops just try to get you out the door or make you feel awkward about not liking something that they set up, but some do.. more do than most think actually.. AND that's not to say that a 5/8" loop isn't right for some people because it absolutely is! But, out of ALL archers, if I had to give a percentage for how many people a 5/8" loop was right for I'd say it's under 10% easily. #4 the reason that more guys will put a shorter loop on hunting bows is because, with the sting angle being so steep, they can't get the string to touch their nose at anchor. (Or at least that's one of the more practical reasons) That's one of the advantages of the nose button in my opinion. It gives you about an 1/8 inch less string/arrow contact by giving you an extension of the string. I still don't agree with having the string dug super deep into your face at anchor though. Watch Josh Bowmar's video where he puts his bow in the draw board and uses a bow scale to show how pressure on the string (in the let off section of the draw cycle) can influence the string. It's insane. I'll leave a link below ⬇️ kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g8V9ldKKqc3Io2w.html With my hunting set ups I will alter my body just a LITTLE bit by tilting my head forward into the string to help with contact issues caused by the sharp angle of the string but I do it protestingly. Anyways, I hope thats helpful in someway. Let me know if I need to clarify any of that or if you have any questions. God bless you and your family! 🙂

@@AngusMoss_Archery thanks for all the info! I think most shops are relatively lazy and don’t really want to personalize the loops… and btw I stopped listening to anything in bomar has to say when his wife wacked a deer right in the shoulder and literally had 1 inch of penetration then they go up to the deer and there’s a hole in the opposite side… they were fake crying and that was the end of me watching them….

@@briantrimboli2192 it's my pleasure, im glad I could be helpful! well, I would not disagree with you on the shops portion of your comment.. some shops are really great though! Regarding the Bowmar portion of you comment; I don't personally know the Bowmar's and there are some things that people won't/don't like about them, BUT, everyone has their flaws and sometime the light that shines on you reveals something ugly. I guarantee that if you watch my channel long enough there will be something that rubs you the wrong way about me. No matter how hard I try to be perfect, I'll never be perfect. Jesus loves us all equally even through our flaws and he calls us to love others as he loves us (And I know that that doesn't mean you have to support them if you disagree with them). I just think it's really important to realize how much that they do for the sport regardless of their flaws. I don't know they're true motivation but it seems to be mostly pure. They love archery and they've brought a lot of attention to the sport and that's a good thing. It's important to stick together as a community of shooters (and followers of Jesus), keep an eye out for our people, and not cannibalize our selves. 🙂

If it's really small then yes, I just adjust my rest, but if it's a big enough tear then I may have to change top hats or change arrow spine/point weight. It depends on the specific situation.
