Zebra light for me and never looking back. With the 18650 batteries, it's crazy bright, has a few useful options, and you can get it in various light temperatures. The ultra white that has become so popular is terrible with blood trials, so I went with a warmer temp and "floody" beam. The batteries are rechargeable, but you can swap them out, so you're not stuck with no light if it dies. Almost every time I show someone, they buy one. Definitely worth a look. (Roughly $80)

Good vid.. been enjoying using a dual led neck light make by Cat hangs nice on your neck with light on each side fits any type of clothes your wearing. Love it

If you keep that milwaukee headlamp on the lowest setting, which is plenty bright for me, it will last all night long!

One might go to lights is an old / early LED light from Walmart. The reason being is that it does not freeze in extreme cold temperatures. I've got several other LED lights that won't come on until they're warmed up. It's only like 300 lumens but it's just enough light to get a deer. I really like the O light brand. I use it from time to time but pretty much use it as my backup.

Something to keep in mind for anyone wearing glasses, make sure the bulbs and or lens are in front of your glasses frame or the reflection off the frames and lens will make the light pretty much unusable.

I use gear oz alpha for most everything I do or the $1 ozark trail head lamp from Walmart and those when the battery dies I just grab a new light

I run a thrunite th30 Over 3000 lumen, and batteries out of old Milwaukee, DeWalt battery packs I took apart and found the good cells in them so I have a ton of batteries. Wouldn't trade my thrunites for anything! Got a thrunites catapult V6 2800 lumen that has 750 yards of throw for those distance checks lol.

Thanks for the video! Good timing as I have been thinking about what light I want to use because I will be doing the same as you, checking in the dark before and after work. Could you do a video on how you keep your catch from spoiling on those warmer days when you have to check then head straight to work?

several factors for lights: power source light source weather proofing they pretty much all have a high beam and red light best value/performance is lithium and led just get one of the black diamond models that fits in your pocket for spotting use a large handheld beater with alkaline

Be mindful not to throw those lithium batteries in your pocket or glove box with keys or coins. They can short out and catch fire. I keep mine in a plastic container in my pack

I love my Milwaukee headlamp with rechargeables. I have one of the flood lights too. They work fantastic. Only downfall is the highest setting nukes batteries.
