Solid suggestions and tips! Engel released a new version 2 live bait cooler which I recently got and it's dope. The hole for the tube is now on the top lid, there got rid of the tray, and now ship a full dip net that sits in the cooler to easily pull fish out. I wish they'd ship a quieter pump tho. Two suggestions I'd humbly offer...1. Get the larger 30qt so u have more flexibility to hold larger baits as well as smaller ones. Add the optional Engel rod holders (2ea side) and mount pump on back (full video walk through of this on my channel). It then doubles as a bait box and rod storage so you potentially can leave other gear at home if you're primarily throwing live bait anyway. 2. You can power the bait box for a full day when you get a USB to DC adaptor cord and a portable charger that has at least 10,000+mah capacity. You save on battery costs over the long run and can power the pump for literally all day on a high capacity charger!

ChiCityYaker i think the smaller cooler is because he’s talking about kayak fishing. I use a 20 qt and it’s too big. A 13 would be great for that.

Love the tip about the pint sized frozen water bottle.

As long as you don't transport your bait, I prefer the torpedo bait bucket for kayak fishing. Never an issue for space. Just drag it along and it's aerodynamic so it wont slow you down.

I've looked on your videos but found nothing on storing fish while kayak or board fishing. We've been using coolers of various designs for a loooong time but they're cumbersome on our WS Tarpon 140's and were on the canoes we fished before kayaks. For safety reasons, stringers are out. Having a bull shark or alligator grabbing fish tied to my kayak is a nightmare I would rather not have. How do you store fish while continuing to fish your paddle boats? Also, do you cut the gills of fish you decide to take home for the table? Thanks for all the great ideas and guidance.

Do you add regular water for shrimp? Or does it have to be salt water?

i wish theyd make a pump/airator with little to no vibration. I was always artificial only but if i was with others using live bait the pumps would set a lot of vibration through the kayak which would sound like a stampede of wild buffalo to fish under the water.

Engel aerator battery life is relatively short, and other popular options were not mentioned. Insufficient.

Kayak ? Ocean kayak trident 13 good kayak for off shore
@trumpafarian71297 жыл бұрын
Don't waste your money. Trident is a good boat but not for fishing. Get a Hobie peddle kayak. No kayak is good for "offshore".
@JohnLee-vl8qk7 жыл бұрын
imjuz Chris is right, the trident is a great inshore boat but I went with a hobie revo, it has the legs you need off shore and when you get a mile out and start drifting you don't want to get tired trying to paddle.
