I still think Wirecast is the best because I own it and don't pay for updates. Ecamm looks great, but I am not trying to add yet another subscription to my life.

great video, you really should use an audio limiter though to bring up your volume, listened to this on headphones while in the bus/subway, and sometimes didn’t hear anything. much love from an audio engineer ;)

I love ecamm live but I run into two issues with the guest options. Audio delays for the guests on their end and on the recording (sometimes an echo) and a limit to 4 guests. Otherwise it’s an incredible tool. I’ve not used the virtual web cam to bridge zoom,which would be helpful. I’m going to try that out after seeing that mentioned here.

Great video! I recently purchased the Boya M1 mic based on your recommendation, and it works very well. However, during live streams/virtual interviews, I am unable to hear other participants speak. Is there a way to hear the computer audio during a live session without having to unplug the mic?

I am torn between mastering OBS or just coughing up the cash for Ecamm. I have a nice home studio setup. I do mostly interviews and education/tutorial content but looking to get into live streaming Q&A. I am pretty tech adept so the learning curve of OBS is not as much of a concern but time is…I have very little free time to tinker. Suggestions???

I will say everything the other sofware can do OBS can do it better, maybe it's more difficult and requires that the user learn many technical aspects but it's pretty above the other streming options. Nice video!

Here’s why I’ve canceled my evmux subscription. Note: For weeks I tested evmux on an M1 using macOS Monterey and an Intel-based Mac using Big Sir. The following occurred on both computers: -UNACCEPTABLE BUGS - 1) The evmux software often records nothing but gray screen. 2) In the recording, sometimes the background appears many seconds later. 3) In the recording, sometimes the avatar arrives many seconds later or is completely absent. 4) Sometimes the audio avatar gets stuck. Other times it’s completely absent. 5) When sharing a video from the computer, the audio is slow, then fast, then slow, etc. [I tested numerous video files-including WebM. This classic video error does not occur with Ecamm Live or StreamYard.] 6) In Pro Scenes, ‘lock’ does not actually lock the element. I.e., if someone accidentally presses the wrong key, the element can/will move. [E.g., run a slideshow and press the right arrow. Use the wrong key followed by an arrow and watch the element jump and then continue moving off the screen.] 7) In Pro Scenes, in the recording, sometimes layers initially appear without others; this renders a very unprofessional recording. 8) In Pro Scenes, sometimes ‘auto-switching’ did not switch. 9) Gray leader prior to the black leader in the beginning of recording. (I’ve seen this occur in evmux demos.) 10) Too many dropped frames. (I’ve seen this occur in evmux demos.) 11) Warning messages appear in very inconvenient locations (over the controls). 12) The branding font-size is out of proportion from one scene to the next. 13) In Pro Scenes, during a PDF slideshow, the transitions do not always work and/or a slide flickers back in during the transition. - MISSING FEATURES - A) Inability to kick and/or block a guest (ref. StreamYard). B) Inability for a guest to upload their own avatar (ref. StreamYard). C) Inability to run a PDF slideshow in Dynamic Scene mode (ref. StreamYard). D) See just how easy it is? evmux Pro Scenes, in my opinion, is quite complicated. Without a lot of practice, there is (again, my opinion having used Ecamm Live and StreamYard) a huge potential for error and/or frustration.

@@PrimalVideo Thank you. Good to know, but I've learned Mimo has other features that are targeted at "pro-sumers" that are best for me. Ecamm is great but Mimo is for a more technical user. Overall Mimo allows you to customize more. Mimo's layout is more traditional (I'm not a fan of the transparent controls in Ecamm), it has remote control capabilities (you can build your own remote control on an iPad), has drag and drop capabilities in the workflow, and offers a macro language to do automation. The way Ecamm does automation in the folders is clunky. Ecamm is fantastic for the beginner to intermediate user and Mimo is for the intermediate to pro user. Both are great products. Just targeted at different audiences.

I don't understand why everybody advertise evmux, yesterday I have used it for my streaming, and by the way I have cancel streamyard because so popularity of this new one evmux, and I had lots of issues during streaming that I didn't have in streamyard. 1. It took me about 30 sec to go live, crazy :), on streamyard it takes 2-3 sec 2. During streaming my guests got disconnected very often, never had something like in streamyard 3. background guests audio was hearable I had to manually mute it one by one, by the way muting is crazy as well. On stream yard there is button mute and it takes just one click, in this one you have to click on tree dot then on audio take the bar way down manually, believe it takes lot of time when you live. 4. On branding section whatever I tried I couldn't change my name color, could change only name holder color, maybe there is option but I couldn't find 5. the logo - when I uploaded my logo it took up a fourth of my screen :)), really it is annoying, MAYBE there is option to change the size but I didn't find it 6. mirroring the video - it says on live it will not mirror, why?????? what is the meaning of mirroring if it is not usable. ok I will stop here complaining about evmux :)), maybe it is good for you, just please, tell all the truth and do not mention that it is the best one on cloud based steamings, no it is not the best, the only good thing that it gives you 1080 instead of 720 and that's all. Next time I am going to try streamlabs to see its pros and cons.

Better read the Wirecast terms and conditions - too many one off lifetime sub models have betrayed their early investors and introduce monthly / annual years later… Wirecast seems the best to me, but also thinking of hardware solutions like Atem. Great

Does iso recording also mean local recording at all endpoints? I use Riverside for high Quality recording not susceptible to internet issues. I would switch back to ecamm if I could get the dependable quality I need.

Justin Brown (and everyone who comments here) - I really hope you can help with this technical obstacle: I have a membership page at Simplero (a course builder) and would love to add livestream + chat functionality on a member page. The member page accepts scripts, but it's difficult to find any streaming software that adds livestream + chat function + make it dead simple for the users. Right now I use Ecamm Live + Facebook Live, but not everyone is on Facebook... :)
