10 жыл бұрынJust a little somethin' I put together.......(BTW...the audio has some pretty deep bass in it.... to get the full effect listen through good headphones or with a decent sub-woofer hooked in..tinny computer speakers just won't cut it!)

Probably more "electro" than hip hop, I appreciate the guys comment that electro is hip hop but genres have evolved and some would argue that anything with rap is hip hop. It's not easy to just pigeon hole something as "rap", "electro" or "hip hop"

@@kevinspratt7261 back then electro was rap or hip hop, so Kurtis the person and Mantronix should be celebrated, it’s not even a question. MC Tee was featured prominently early on. Ask anyone involved during the 80s and 90s about their influence, DJ Premier will tell ya that Mantronix is the king of the beats!

After all those years.... still grazy about Mantronix. In the days we were taping this from a English radio station. In the Netherlands all we heard was U2 etc.

Dude this is such an awesome mix. This was my first time listening to manitronix. Im younger so I’ve never really heard them before, but I am a big fan of hip hop and music in general so it was awesome to hear so much music I recognized but never knew the source. I knew the “Two Turntables & a microphone” line from Becks “Where it’s at” and have loved it since junior high but I never knew the source. I also heard the “Blacks, Puerto Ricans, and white people too” from some Beastie Boys song. And I instantly recognized the fat boys and Warriors Samples,that you added. But yeah I’ve been bumping this in my car since I’ve discovered it. The bass that starts around 1:05 is so awesome, it just makes me feel right. Just wanted to say how great this mix is and I’m super glad you put it together. Peace!

Thanks MZ. Appreciate the comment and also appreciate you recognizing the classics. I was in high school when the songs and samples in this mix originally came out and I always wanted to do a combined mix with them - it took me 30 years! the King of the Beats - Kurtis Mantronik - was so far ahead of his time.

So I took your advice and sent this through an 80's Denon POA-2800 to a pair of Technics SB-G90 transducers...you are correct, Sir...that bass broke a window

Thanks for the love, Adolfo. I've been listening to Mantronik since '84 when I was 17. I never stopped. His is a one of a kind sound that is at the root of so much that's out now. Much respect to those who were there at the beginning and respect the King of the Beats. I did this mix just for myself to listen to and had it for a couple of years before I thought about posting it.
