this portion and 1 cor 13:4-8 happen to be part of daily affirmation. I wrote them out on a sheet of paper and pasted it beside my bed to serve as daily reminder of who I am in Christ and affirm them until I start giving expression by default. this message is profound, thank you Sir.

Well, Everyone speaks from the realm of his understanding. What makes marriage work goes beyond that scriptural verse. And if that's all one take as all, i bet you , you will come down with a lot of deficiencies in having an all round happy home. Walking in the spirit helps you not fulfill the lust of the flesh... That's one out of a thousand thing that protects your marriage. It doesn't make it the ultimate. Marriage is built on knowledge and understanding... and there are a lot more to it.

There’s a difference between BEST marriage advice and ONLY marriage advice. Saying there’s a lot more to it is besides the point. Anyways, carry on

I understand your point that we also need other knowledge and understanding to make marriage work. But you have to understand the depth of what the scripture means when it says walk in the spirit. Walking in the spirit is walking in line with God's word. John 6:63 says that the word that I speak is spirit and life. So everything that is required to have a good marriage is in the word. Holding strongly to Gal 5:16 will lead you to every of God's word (knowledge and understanding) that guarantees a good home
